Computing Projects Expo 2026 Showcases Innovation and Talent at WIUT 💻

On 1 May 2026, the https://www.wiut.uz/bsc-hons-in-computer-science team at Westminster International University in Tashkent successfully hosted the Computing Projects Expo 2026.

The event brought together students, IT industry professionals, and academic staff to explore a diverse range of innovative computing projects. Students presented their work through live demonstrations, offering attendees an opportunity to engage directly with their ideas, ask questions, and provide valuable feedback.

A key highlight of the Expo was the active involvement of attendees in the evaluation process, with live voting enabling participants to recognise and celebrate the most outstanding projects of the year.

WIUT Student Achieves Top 3 at National AI Hackathon

We are proud to share that Shohruxxo’ja Muxiddinov, our Level 6 Computing student, has secured 3rd place at the prestigious National AI Hackathon.

The hackathon, held in Bukhara, brought together talented young innovators from across the country for an intensive five-day programme focused on developing real-world artificial intelligence solutions. Participants worked in teams, received mentorship from industry experts, and presented their projects to a professional jury during the final Demo Day.

Shohruxxo’ja’s achievement highlights not only his individual talent and dedication, but also the growing strength of WIUT students in the field of digital innovation and emerging technologies. The competition itself is part of a nationwide initiative aimed at fostering the AI ecosystem and supporting the next generation of tech leaders in Uzbekistan.

Sport, Spirit, and Student Unity at WIUT 🏆

Westminster International University in Tashkent is proud to be part of the nationwide “Yangi Oʻzbekiston talabalar Olimpiadasi” — a major student sports initiative that has officially kicked off across the country.

This nationwide Olympiad, held in three stages from April to June, unites students from higher education institutions across Uzbekistan, promoting a healthy lifestyle and strengthening the culture of mass sport.

The tournament at WIUT was officially opened by the Rector of WIUT, Komiljon Karimov, who emphasised the importance of student engagement in sport as a key part of personal development and university life. He noted that participation in sport fosters discipline, teamwork, and resilience, and wished all students success in the competition.

At WIUT, the tournament has brought together our vibrant student community through a series of exciting competitions, including volleyball, basketball, and table tennis. As a university that values holistic development, WIUT places strong emphasis on sport as a key pillar of student experience. Through initiatives like this, we encourage our students to stay active, build resilience, and develop leadership skills beyond the classroom.

Artificial Intelligence tools can be a great support for learning when used thoughtfully. Our Faculty members have shared practical tips to help you use AI in a way that strengthens your understanding and keeps your work academically honest.

Use AI to clarify concepts, generate study questions, summarise your own notes, and improve structure and language, but don’t use it to replace your thinking. Always check facts, verify sources, and make sure you can explain anything you submit in your own words.

❗️Remember: if you use AI, be transparent about how you have used it, as required by your module, and follow WIUT’s Academic Integrity and the https://intranet.wiut.uz/Uploads/FileService/WiutDocuments/8dadf293-cadc-44d9-8444-7db6883e2d4d.pdf rules. WIUT Computing Students Take 1st and 2nd Place at the Problem-Solving International Hackathon 2026 🖥🏆

We are proud to celebrate an outstanding achievement by our https://www.instagram.com/wiut.csbis?igsh=cmg3MHZlZTFnaXNk students at the Problem-Solving International Hackathon 2026, hosted by the University of Westminster.

This annual hackathon brought together students from partner institutions in London, Tashkent, Colombo and Lalitpur. In total, 151 students across 43 teams competed in a fast-paced contest designed to test logic, mathematics and programming skills.

Winners:
• 1st Place: Nano Banana (WIUT, Uzbekistan): Javohir Ismatullayev, Akbar Avazbekov, Rashidjon Shukurov, Muzaffar Nurillaev
• 2nd Place: Psh Team (WIUT, Uzbekistan): Javohir Hasanov, Amir Kuldashev, Abdullakhon Rahmatov
• 3rd Place: Makalu (The Westminster College, Nepal)

We are especially proud that both 1st and 2nd places were secured by WIUT students, highlighting exceptional analytical thinking, teamwork and technical capability on an international stage. Congratulations! 🥳

Students of Westminster International University in Tashkent visited the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and took part in an official meeting with senators and Youth Parliament representatives.

During the dialogue, Senator Malika Kadirxonova and Youth Parliament Chairperson Laylo Aslonova highlighted ongoing parliamentary reforms and the expanding role of youth in law-making processes.

The visit once again demonstrated that under the leadership of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Republic of Uzbekistan, attention to youth is not limited to symbolic occasions or annual discussions. Youth empowerment in Uzbekistan is a daily priority, deeply embedded in state policy and parliamentary practice.

At the conclusion of the meeting, WIUT students actively engaged in discussion, receiving comprehensive answers to their questions and leaving with strengthened motivation to contribute to the country’s sustainable and democratic development.
