This is a faithful replica of the first pressing, as it was originally released by No Colours and SDP. Nothing has been changed, added, or omitted. ABSURD - Asgardsrei (12“ Picture Disc). We are continuing our picture disc release series with the album Asgardsrei from 1999. Although the album was recorded in a professional studio, it was mixed by us. Originally, L’Hiver (Winterblut) was supposed to handle that, but he disappeared beforehand…

In any case, this release suffered from a suboptimal sound for many years, until TT (Abigor) remixed and remastered the recordings in 2012. Since then, Asgardsrei has been released in this remix/remaster version. Artwork by Antichrist Kramer. Available from April 20, 2026.

In 2026, our legendary concert at the Asgardsrei Festival in Kyiv, in December 2018, will already be eight years in the past. In the meantime, a great deal has happened — especially in Ukraine, where our friends and comrades have since been at war — but one thing has not changed: that performance was the biggest and best concert we have played so far.

That is why we want to bring it back to memory with a release on CD, LP, and DVD. “Das wilde Heer” will be unleashed soon and will include not only our complete concert (20 songs) but also exclusive visual material from this memorable performance. The proceeds will support the brave defenders of Ukraine. Slava!

Between 1994 and 1995, Absurd took the stage five times behind prison walls under the alias In Ketten. From the very last of these shows a live recording survives, which we have recently reissued. It was through this prison band that we managed to complete and smuggle out the legendary recordings of “Out of the Dungeon”, “Thuringian Pagan Madness”, and “Facta Loquuntur” — a feat made possible only under conditions of disguise and secrecy.

However, that chapter of captivity has left a mark that will never fade. Even 30 years later, we stand in solidarity with the political prisoners of our movement in the prisons of Germany, Great Britain, Austria and elsewhere. One of them, Manuel from Tyrol, has been a loyal friend and comrade of Absurd for many years. In his honor, we re-recorded one of the In Ketten songs last year, which will soon appear on a solidarity compilation dedicated to his support.

The song once known as “Häftling in der BRD” has now become “Häftling in Österreich”, yet its theme remains unchanged: the prisoner’s burning longing for freedom.

Never forget those imprisoned for “speech and thought crimes” in so-called “democratic” states — their fate could one day be yours, just as it was once ours.

Wolfsmond was founded in 1994 by Managarm — but that same year, DMD (Schatten) had also written his own songs under the same name. When he discovered that another Wolfsmond already existed (and had even released a demo), he shelved his idea.

Years later, through Wolf, he met Managarm and joined his band after parting ways with Absurd. Together they recorded three albums, but never played live.

Almost a decade ago, Managarm left the band — since then, it’s been just Schatten & Unhold carrying the torch.

Yesterday, Wolfsmond finally played their first live show ever, supported by members of Cold Earth (also active in Shroud of Satan, Thorybos, and Shores of Ladon).

We wish our former bandmates Schatten and Unhold all the best for the future of Wolfsmond!

The most well-known recordings from Absurd’s early era were all made behind bars, and to pull that off, we naturally had to get creative. A local nonprofit organization had created an opportunity for inmates at the local prison to practice musical instruments and play together as a band. That was exactly what we needed back then! Of course, we couldn’t do this as Absurd, so we called ourselves In Ketten (“In Chains”) and started covering songs by other bands, including the Misfits, The Animals, Ultima Thule, and Endstufe. In secret, however, we rehearsed Absurd songs, which we then covertly recorded and smuggled out of the prison. As In Ketten, we even performed several times in front of inmates and prison staff. One of those performances, in 1995 at the Ichtershausen prison in Thuringia, was recorded on video. Unfortunately, the video footage has been lost, and only the audio remains. That concert—the only one featuring the “classic” lineup of DMD, JFN, and CHS—has since been released multiple times and is currently available again on CD (with an LP version to follow!).

Already during the recording of “Werwolfthron”, Wolf faced the challenge of how to create a full album from the few previously unreleased songs that had been passed down from DMD. Since there was no new original material at the time, they improvised. It was only afterward that they began writing their own songs for “Wolfskrieger”, which was intended to be a collaborative work with Pantheon from the USA. Wolf had access to some lyrics written by JFN during his first imprisonment, and together with Unhold, new songs were created from them—including the song “Colours of Autumn”, which has since become a classic among Absurd’s songs. Additionally, there were a few re-recordings of older tracks, and in 2002, Wolfskrieger was released for the first time, setting the direction for Absurd’s further development. These songs are now available as a reissue on CD, featuring the original cover artwork that Njard specifically created for the LP version (first released in 2005).

ABSURD - Life beyond the Grave (5LP-Box). It’s rare for a music release to be in development for so long without ever being completed. In this case, the first announcement came in 2009—exactly 16 years ago! Over the years, various labels tried their hand at it, but to no avail, until the perseverance and resources of the two black metal veterans from New Era Productions and Darker Than Black Records finally brought the desired result! Barely released and already sold out, our demos (plus bonus tracks) are available on vinyl for the first (and last) time. Five LPs are housed in a stylish wooden box, complete with a booklet and poster, limited to 333 copies. Additionally, there’s a separate box for the test pressings, limited to 20 copies, each featuring the CD version’s cover artwork. We thank our fans for the overwhelming support for this magnificent release and wish them great enjoyment with this unique collector’s item, as there will be no repress.
