You know that feeling when you unfollow pages, channels, or anything you once started following because you wanted a solution for a certain problem you were going through… but now you’ve completely outgrown those problems?
You be like… “wow. I really don’t need this page anymore….this problem no longer applies to my life and I have better problems than this now.” it is such a beautiful reminder of how much you’ve grown.

Since many of you have been asking about my skincare routine 🤭, I thought I’d make a little content about it.
Here’s what I use:
✨ Cosmo Face Wash
✨ CeraVe Moisturizer
✨ Skin Aqua Sunscreen
Mind you, my skin type is normal to dry
If your skin type is different, this routine may not work for you
But personally, I found the face wash really helpful with reducing dark spots and clearing my skin. If you have oily skin, I think the strawberry version of the face wash is recommended. The sunscreen is also very nice.

I can’t deal with people who act like they’ve got life all figured out just because they’ve been thru a few experiences and now want to tell everyone what to do and what not to do.
Life isn’t black and white. It’s gray.
Sure, there are things that are clearly right and wrong based on your religion, beliefs and values. But when it comes to other life advice, just because something worked for you doesn’t mean it’ll work for everyone else.
Different people. Different circumstances. Different paths.

I couldn’t agree more with what this girl is saying. It reminded me of the saying:
“ኲሉ ጻድቅ በጊዜ ርቱዕ”
“በደግ ጊዜ ሁሉ ጻድቅ ነው።”
Everyone is righteous when times are good.
I’ve seen this in so many people including myself. So many of us say, “I would never do that,” and end up doing exactly that when we’re finally in that position or when we get challenged.
I’ve seen myself acting against my morals before. And the hardest realization was that some of those “morals” existed because I didn’t have the chance, power, or temptation to do otherwise. We usually mistake our limitations for our character.
So, as she said, instead of confidently saying, “I would never do that, “it’s wiser to say, “I hope I won’t do that.”
And make sure your morals aren’t just a result of your limitations, but of your values. Also, try not to judge others. You never know where you find yourself tomorrow.
I’m slowly learning to say no.
For the longest time, I thought saying yes to everything people asked of me was kindness. But it wasn’t. Most of the time, it was fear of rejection, fear of being disliked, fear of disappointing people. So I’d say yes…even when it puts me under pressure, drained me, or was something I didn’t want to do.
I think there’s a clear line between kindness and people pleasing.
Kindness comes from love. You help because you genuinely want to, and afterward, there’s a sense of peace and satisfaction.
People pleasing comes from fear. You say yes to avoid conflict or rejection, and afterward, you’re left feeling drained, resentful, and like you’ve abandoned yourself.
it’s okay if some people don’t like you btw. It’s okay if they think you’re selfish or greedy. They’re allowed to have their opinions.
Just don’t let people pleasing make your decisions. You know your life, so choose your yeses more thoughtfully. Let them come from your values, not your fear.

Lately, my mind has been haunting me telling me I need to figure out something that will make me a good amount of money, become financially stable, and settle down as soon as possible. But then i read this, and it was sort of a relief.
maybe our 20s are for trying new things, failing, learning, and figuring out ourselves. we don’t have to rush to settle.

Some life lessons I’ve been learning from my code lately
* The same way your Go server panics when the error handling is poor, the reason why you panic sometimes might be cuz of poor stress-handling system.
Turns out life also needs explicit handling:
if somethingGoesWrong {
handleItThisWay()
}
// unhandled cases = panic()
Ignoring errors doesn’t make them disappear...runtime panic awaits you anyway.
* Just like separation of concern helps in better manageability of the code, modularizing your life, and doing only one thing at a time(not multitasking) helps better manage life.
Separation of concerns could also mean not letting personal stress leak into work decisions. And when you’re not working, shut down the “work process.”
That way, you can debug one system without breaking the other.
