PTS Pre-Medical Test Meeting Summary

1. Points from the Medical Professionals Team
The eye test is very strict and thorough.
You are expected to read all letters correctly on the 20/20 vision test.
This follows the EAA standard, and missing even a single letter may result in failure.

Other medical tests will only proceed after successfully passing the eye test.
The full medical examination may take up to 2 days.

Rescheduling appointments:
Allowed only if the reason is valid and strong enough to potentially affect test results.
Other requests will not be accepted, as they may disrupt the EAA schedule.

2. Preparation Tips
Get adequate sleep and rest before the test.
Eat well and stay hydrated.
Avoid anything that may strain your eyes for at least 48 hours, such as:
Prolonged screen time
Excessive reading or other eye-intensive activities

3. Points from the HR / Recruitment Office
Applicants who have immediate family members (e.g., father, mother, brother, or sister) working in the same division they are applying for (e.g., Piloting) must:
Inform and consult the HR/Recruitment Office before proceeding.

4. Post-Medical Process
Immediately After the Medical Test
Candidates must submit:
- All original documents + two copies
- Kebele ID
- Two passport-size photos
After submission, you will receive a letter for the forensic test:
Location: Around Tikur Anbessa area
Purpose: Fingerprint registration to verify whether you have any criminal record
Important: Arrive there early, as there may be long queues

You must also prepare:
- Unmarried certificate (for yourself)

After the Forensic Test
Submit the forensic test results to the Recruitment Office.
If possible, bring the following on the same day:
- Your guarantor
- Your unmarried certificate

5. Guarantor (ዋስ) Requirements
Eligibility Criteria

The guarantor must:

Be employed in:
- A government organization, financial institution, or bank
- Be a full-time/permanent employee
- Have a minimum basic salary of 15,000 ETB
If you cannot find one guarantor who meets the salary requirement, you may bring two guarantors whose combined salaries total at least 15,000 ETB.
In this case, all requirements and documents apply to both guarantors.
Required Letter from Guarantor's Company
The guarantor must provide an official letter that includes:
- Confirmation of full-time/permanent employment
- The employee’s salary
- A statement confirming:
“This employee agrees to act as a guarantor for [your name].”

Note: The content of this letter may need to be verified by the HR/Recruitment Office (please confirm, as this is based on personal notes).

Required Documents from Guarantor
Marriage certificate or
Unmarried certificate
Note: Only legal marriage certificates are accepted.
