Ibn Rajab said:

« As for the supererogatory prayers of the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, they are superior to the supererogatory prayers of the ten days of Ramadan. Likewise, the obligatory prayers of the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah are multiplied more than the multiplication of the obligatory prayers of other than them. »

“So if these days [the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah] are days in which righteous deeds are beloved to Allah, then it is obligatory upon the servant to hasten [to perform them], because when a deed is beloved during a specific time, it carries weight and significance. And all praise is due to Allah— the doors of goodness are open. So the remembrance of Allah—Glorified and Exalted be He—is among the most beloved and virtuous of deeds.”

Ibn Al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

“They are the ten days by which Allaah swore an oath by in His Book in His saying:

﴿وَالْفَجْرِ وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٍ﴾

«By the dawn. And by the ten nights»

Due to this it is recommended that the Takbeer and the Tahleel and the Tahmeed be made plentifully within them.”

* Alhamdulillah
* La ilaha illa Allah
* SubhanAllah

The ease of the heart is having few sins.

The ease of the stomach is eating less food.

And the ease of the tongue is speaking less.

Think about how many times you've been struck by a calamity before.

Think of those moments when life felt so tight it was suffocating, and despair began to slither into your soul.

And then, the relief from الله arrived from a direction you never could have imagined.

In those moments of ease, didn't you look back and wish you had shown more patience?

Didn't you wish you had been more content with the decree of الله and simply surrendered your affairs to Him?

Just as الله lifted the burden from you every single time before and removed your distress, He will surely remove the trial you are facing right now.

Have Ridha (contentment) with your Lord. Keep your heart sound.

Do not listen to the whispers of Shaytan, for he promises you nothing but delusion and fear, while الله promises you forgiveness from Him and His immense bounty.

The trial is temporary, the reward for your patience is eternal.

If you knew how الله was managing your affairs, your heart would melt with love for Him.

We ask الله to make us among the patient who are content with our Lord during times of trial, and we ask Him to make us among the grateful who turn to Him in times of relief and prosperity.

Ibn al-Qayyim: What Brings Rizq and What Blocks It

Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah) said:

Four matters bring Rizq (provision):

1. Standing in the night prayer
2. Frequent seeking of forgiveness in the early dawn hours
3. Giving in charity continuously
4. Remembrance of Allah at the beginning of the day and its end

Four matters prevent Rizq:

1. Sleeping in the early morning
2. Little prayer
3. Laziness
4. Betrayal

This is one of those verses that shakes my heart.

It shows how merciful our Lord is and proves that He, the Exalted, takes full charge of the righteous.

It grants you a sense of tranquility and security, it tells you that if you do good and rectify your relationship with your Lord, you have absolutely nothing to worry about. الله will take care of every single one of your affairs.

People, with their limited material vision and worldly outlook, see a father die and leave behind little children and they think it’s over. They think those children have no one left, that their fate is displacement and ruin.

But the righteous man leaves them in the care of his Lord, and what an Excellent Protector and Helper He is. If a father left his children the entire world but they didn't have الله, they would be lost.

Yet, if they have الله and possess nothing of this world, they are saved and protected. الله is the Best of Guardians.

This verse teaches us that the best inheritance you can leave for your children is your own righteousness and your own Taqwa. الله preserved a treasure for two orphans because of the righteousness of their father.

He sent two of the greatest men 'Khidr and Musa' to fix a wall in a village that had refused them hospitality, all to protect the future of those boys.

Benefits of sending Salawat (Durood) upon the Prophet ﷺ

1) Allah sends ten mercies upon the one who sends one Salawat.

2) Ten sins are forgiven.

3) Ten ranks are raised in status.

4) It brings you closer to the Prophet ﷺ on the Day of Judgment.

5) It is a means of having du‘a accepted.

6) It removes worries and distress.

7) It brings barakah (blessing) in life.

8) It is a cause of earning the intercession (shafa‘ah) of the Prophet ﷺ.

9) It fulfills the command of Allah in the Qur’an (33:56).

10) It softens the heart and increases love for the Prophet ﷺ.

It is narrated that one of the pious once wanted to divorce his wife. When he was asked: "What makes you dislike her?" He said: "An intelligent person does not reveal a secret.' When he had divorced her he was asked: "What made you divorce her?" His reply was: Ido not wish to talk about a woman that is not mine.'
