In 2022, I thought our industry was done. I would wake up worrying that the writing skills I had spent my entire life building were about to become obsolete.

In 2026, I see that AI cannot even replace a teacher’s assistant in our Admissions Program. The AI industry is driven by fear-mongering, overstated expectations, and short-term thinking.

The technology has massive long-term potential. But as it stands now, it’s a bubble. And more people are starting to realize it.

In seven years in education, I am yet to see an inborn genius.

Sure, some students are more predisposed to grasp complex ideas in certain fields.

But every single person who has ever made it stayed up later, worked harder over longer periods, and built a much higher tolerance for negative feedback.

Generally, people are far more the result of their environment and decisions than inborn talent.
