On Saturday, April 25, Revolutionary Republicans gathered outside the British Embassy in Dublin to mark Republic Day and the 110th Anniversary of the Proclamation of the Irish Republic as well as to protest the ongoing illegal British Occupation and Partition of Ireland.

Republicans from all four provinces were in attendance with banners reading ‘Britain/NATO out of Ireland’ and Tricolours, Starry Ploughs and Sunburst flags waving defiantly in the Dublin Sunshine while chants of ‘Britain Out of Ireland’ ‘Saor Éire Anois’ ‘Tiocfaidh Ár Lá’ and ‘One Solution-Revolution’ rang out.

The event was kept under surveillance by a large number of Uniformed Free State Police backed up by the ‘public order unit’ and armed members of the Special Branch, the Free State’s political police, who were set up as part of the British forces of occupation.

Following a reading of the 1916 Proclamation a number of speeches were delivered highlighting the importance of continuing the resistance to achieve a Sovereign, Independent All Ireland Republic by any means necessary.

There are more then 20,000 members of the British Occupation Forces in Ireland who have absolutely no right to be here. This includes thousands of British Military personnel who are backed up by further thousands of a colonial paramilitary police, hundreds of MI5 spies, Military and police reservists and thousands and thousands of members of Pro British Death Squads.

Anti Imperialist Action Ireland is committed to the fight against Imperialism in Ireland, to ending the illegal British Occupation and Partition of our country and to establishing a 32 County All Ireland Republic.

AIA welcomes today’s news that Daithí has been granted bail and hope he will be home with his family and community very soon.

Today members of Anti Imperialist Action Ireland held a very successful picket and banner drop on Dublin’s Ha’penny bridge calling for Daithí Ó’Corráin to be released and for the removal of US Troops from Shannon Airport.

Daithí Ó’Corráin was scheduled to appear by video link this morning for a bail hearing that has now been rescheduled to Monday.

Anti Imperialist Action Ireland extends our solidarity to Daithí, his family and his supporters and will continue to call for his immediate release.

Today in Tipperary a member of the Frank Ryan Coiste of AIA Munster mounted a verbal protest against the Free State use of Allianz Insurance for County Council community development, this fact has been kept from communities, Allianz are an Israeli genocide enabler, our activiat ensured that senior civil servants were unable to continue any presentations to the assembled communitynreps and council adminiatration staff while he was present at no time will AIA members allow lies and genocide enabling to be proliferated to or within our communities!

Our member was forceably removed by uniformed free state thugs and provented from re-entering.

Our communites have always stood with the palestinian people and we will never remain silent while israel perpetrates occupation and genocide.

Fly our National Flag with Pride!

A Sinn Féin member of Britain’s Colonial administration in Ireland has condemned the flying of Tricolour, our National Flag, in the Republican Markets area of Occupied Belfast.

Colonial Representative Deirdre Hargey has said the flying of the Tricolour by residents in the Markets is a ‘desecration of our National Flag’

It seems Sinn Féin and Deirdre Hargey need reminding, that the Tricolour is a flag of Resistance. It is our National Flag and flown in occupied Ireland in defiance of the illegal occupation and partition of our Country.

Sinn Féin are part and parcel of the British Occupation and the Irish People will not take lectures from those getting rich from administering British Rule when and where we should fly out National Flag.

The Tricolour is our National Flag. It is a flag of the Republican Resistance. It is flown as a symbol of the ongoing fight for National Liberation. It is flown to represent the unity of the Irish People and as a defiant statement that we will never submit to a British Rule, foreign occupation or Imperialism in Ireland!

The Irish People should fly the Tricolour Resistance and with pride. It will never belong to those who administer British rule, to the Free State Traitors or their fascist foot soldiers.

It belongs to the Irish People and in particular to those who remain loyal to the All Ireland Republic Proclaimed in 1916.

Free Daithí Ó’Corráin- Solidarity Protest Dublin!

Daithí Ó’Corráin might have a bail hearing on Thursday morning. However Daithí has been told he won’t be brought to court, and will appear at any court by video link!

They state is trying to keep attention off the jailing of Daithí following an inspiring action against a US War Plane at Shannon Airport- but that won’t be allowed to happen!

Instead we are organising a very public Free Daithí Ó’Corráin Solidarity Protest at 10:30am, Thursday April 23 at the Ha’Penny Bridge, Dublin City Centre.

We are calling on all those in, Dublin and the surrounding areas, who support Daithí and who support resistance against the US Military at Shannon Airport to join us and show the level of support for Daithí Ó’ Corráin!

As part of the Easter 1916 events AIA hosted a 1916 revolutionary walking tour. The tour, attended by scores of international guests, began at the James Connolly statue, traced the formation of the Irish Citizen Army, Cumann na mBan and the Irish Volunteers, and provided background on the social, economic, political and cultural context of the Rising.

The tour touched on sites where organisations were formed, the importance of labour and the contribution of cultural movements, described key engagements, ending fittingly at the O'Rahilly plaque off Moore Street, where the last battle was fought.

The tour was well received with international guests asking questions and support from the general public and passersby also.

Another key aspect of the tour was highlighting the dissonance in the Free State's claim to the 1916 Rising, a claim which can only be made to partition and the ongoing subjugation to Imperialism.

On this day in 1922, 200 Volunteers from the Dublin Brigade, Óglaigh na h-Éireann, led by Commandant General Rory O’Connor, took control of the Four Courts of Dublin and having rejected the treaty of surrender, openly declared their intention to continue to fight against British Imperialism in Ireland, in defence of the Republic Proclaimed in Arms in 1916.

The fight for the Republic of 1916 continues uncompromisingly today.

Anti Imperialist Action Ireland proudly remembers Vol. Joe McCann, Belfast Brigade, Óglaigh na h-Éireann who was assassinated on this day in 1972 by terrorists from the British Parachute Regiment.

A leading Socialist Republican, McCann joined Na Fianna Éireann aged just 12 in 1960 during the IRA’s border campaign. He graduated to Óglaigh na h-Éireann in 1964 and in 1965 was sentenced to 9 months in the Crumlin road for disrupting a Brit Army Recruitment event. On his release he through himself into the class struggle and was active in the struggles of the people from housing to civil rights.

With the outbreak of the war for national liberation in 1969, Joe’s exploits as a Volunteer have become From resisting the Falls Curfew to the Battle of Inglis Bakery Joe McCann fearlessly took the war to the Brits with such effectiveness that it led some to call him Ireland’s Che Guevara!

Vol. Joe McCann was just 24 years old when he gave his life for the 32 County Irish Socialist Republic.

Members of Anti Imperialist Action and the Revolutionary Housing League attended tonight’s Drop the Rents picket outside the monthly meeting of Dublin City Council.

The picket was well attended by local tenants and housing activists, but static pickets or putting faith in elections will not tackle the rents or bring about change.

The working class need to learn from the tactics that were on display over the last week and apply them to our own struggles as it has been shown that it is militant protests and direct action that have been shown to work to achieve our objectives

Anti-Imperialist Action Ireland condemns the free state for the repression of fuel and energy protestors across the state.

In particular we condem the Free State Police for the violent acts they have carried out against civilian protestors, workers and farmers, including pepper spray, baton charges and the use of both the riot squad and armed police in an attempt to intimidate the protesters.

The fuel and energy protests have got everyone in the country talking. The tactics are correct and should be taken up by the working class, the only class capable of leading protests and actions that will win victories for the Irish People as a whole.

Now is the time to widen the demands of the people from fuel and energy to include housing and the cost of living and to have workers and farmers stand shoulder to shoulder against the free state and its violent repression.

The last number of days has shown the free state is weak. If the working class was organised and disciplined, theirs actions in alliance with small farmers and small businesses owners could and would overthrow the Free State, the criminals in Leinster House and create the conditions necessary for the establishment of the Republic of 1916.

That should be the objective today of anyone serious about challenging the establishment and brininging about the fundamental and necessary change wanted and needed by the Irish People

For the unity of the working class, small farmers and small businesses for the defeat of the Free State!

Never trust the far right, Big Rancher Farmers or Industrial Capitalists!

Over the last week the usual far right mouth pieces promised support to the farmers and hauliers, loudly spoke about resisting the Garda and the state and tried to use their lies to build influence over the protests.

But when the state did move to remove the protesters and blockades, the far right were nowhere to be found, safely tucked up at home in their beds.

Republicans have maintained a presence despite surveillance and harassment, and are continuing to support protest actions around the country today.

Anti Imperialist Action Ireland calls on all those continuing to take part in the protests to learn from the last few days and understand far right rabble-rousing for nothing more then empty talk that should be given no place in any serious anti-establishment protests going forward.

The far right, big rancher farmers and the industrial scale hauliers were always going to sell the people out! The protests can only be strengthened under the leadership of the workers!

Imperialism is stretched and the crisis will continue to deepen. What is needed is a united front of workers and small farmers and small businesses advancing demands that serve the working class and rural communities and to keep the far right mouths and big capitalist interests out of what should be a people’s movement.

The ally of the small farmers and rural workers is the urban working class. This is our shared fight against the cost of living, crippling fuel and energy prices and the artificial housing crisis across Ireland.

Let us stand together now and support each other in our struggles as we have before, as we did during the fight against the water tax, the bin tax and the imposition of austerity on our communities when the criminals in Leinster House bailed out the banks and bond holders!

This opportunity shouldn’t be lost by being misled by the exploiting classes!

NO TO LAND GRABS:

AIA coiste Thomas Keating joined the people in Killmeaden today walking through hail, rain, or shine in Protest against data centers and gas turbines being built without consultation or approval from the people. The speeches made it clear they are not against all development but against development that does not aid or solve the issues of Killmeaden.

AIA believes that no data centres should be built in Ireland, taking up 22% of total electricity on the grid. This data center in Killmeaden will only press the working class more with increased oil and electricity prices.

The land owner initially presented the planning permission for a shopping center, but changed it at the last minute to data centres in service of imperialists who exploit our lands for their own profit.

AIA will stand with the Irish people against such parasitic developments which do nothing for our communities. That this can go on against the will of our communities shows that the Free State and the garrison class are totally subservient to imperialism and that we lack sovereignty as a people and a nation.

Britian/NATO Out of Ireland!

On Saturday April 4, as Revolutionary Irish Socialist Republicans gathered at the grave of Vol. Seamus Costello to mark the 110th anniversary of the 1916 Rising, the event included a militant anti NATO action, to mark the 77th anniversary of the establishment of the imperialist alliance and to recommit the Republican activists in attendance to resistance to the unwanted presence of NATO in our Country.

NATO, through British Imperialism plays a key role in the ongoing occupation and partition of Ireland, and the war mongers want to take all of Ireland into NATO, who already occupy Shannon Airport and use our airspace through the presence of the US Military.

As the NATO flag was symbolically engulfed in a flame, the crowd was reminded of the prophetic words of Vol. Seamus Costello that ‘No foreign army, under no matter what flag, will ever garrison Ireland in peace!’
