Intuition in product design shouldn’t be a matter of stripping everything down until nothing is left.

It’s rather about placing the next step where the person already expects it to be and keeping the flow coherent enough that explanation becomes secondary.

When people say something “just made sense” that usually means the design respected how they were already thinking. That's what we want with Tokenum

There’s a difference between intelligence and clarity. Crypto has no shortage of the first one, but the shortage is in the second.

The products that win the next stretch of adoption may not be the ones with the most complex architecture or the loudest language.

They’ll be the ones that make people feel oriented almost immediately.

A lot of teams still think in terms of excitement: how to make the product feel new, advanced, powerful. But hesitation is usually the bigger problem. The moment someone starts wondering whether they’re doing the wrong thing, the energy changes. We’re increasingly convinced that removing hesitation matters more than adding excitement.

There’s a reason people trust certain tools instinctively. Just settled enough that you don’t approach them with tension.

In the meantime, a lot of crypto still feels provisional, like it might shift under your feet. We think the future belongs to systems that feel composed, where the user can relax into the experience instead of staying on guard.

First impressions matter, but they’re only part of the story. Plenty of things can feel exciting once.

What matters more is whether the experience leaves enough room for return.

Did it feel clear? Did it leave the user with confidence instead of residue?

We think the strongest products are the ones people can re-enter without needing to re-prepare themselves.

One vague prompt --> one unclear outcome --> introduce doubt.

We don’t think enough people talk about dread in product design.

Not fear exactly, but just that low-level tension users carry when a system feels fragile or unforgiving. When people brace themselves before every action, they may still complete it, but they probably won’t build a habit around it. Products become livable when that tension starts to disappear. Especially in crypto.

Sign this. Approve that. Try again. Follow this process and believe it’ll work out.

That order feels wrong.

Trust should be the result of a clean first interaction, not the entrance fee required to get one.

Early on, “the future” often looks loud full of big claims and dramatic visuals. But over time, real progress tends to become quieter and blend into normal life.

This is what's become much more interesting to us.

We became less interested in making things feel futuristic for the sake of it and now more focused on building things that feel so natural people stop noticing how new they really are.

Sometimes that’s true. But often what people want is confidence, not some deeper understanding. They want to feel that the system won’t punish them for a normal mistake. They want to know that the action they’re taking makes sense.

Trust is often built through clarity long before it’s built through education.

Web3 has proven a lot over the years. It has shown what can be built, what can be moved, and even what can be automated.

But proving something is possible is not the same as making it livable with on a comfortable level. Everyday life has very different standards.

It asks for things that hold up on an ordinary Tuesday afternoon, not just in a product demo. And that's what we want for our users and adopters of Web3 in general.

One of the things we keep circling back to is energy. Human energy like attention, patience, or confidence for that matter.

A lot of digital products quietly drain those things from people. They leave users more tired than they found them.

At Tokenum, we think good systems should do the opposite. They should leave people feeling capable, clear, and ready to come back. It's become part of how and why we build.

We’ve spent years asking users to adapt to the system. Learn the rituals. Learn what every button really means. At some point, we have to admit that this is backwards.

If people keep feeling lost, the answer isn’t to blame them for not being “early” enough. The answer is to build experiences that stop making normal people feel out of place.

There’s a tendency in this space to celebrate whatever feels the newest, loudest, or most technically impressive. But when we look at the products people actually keep in their lives, they usually aren’t the loudest ones. They’re the ones that feel steady. Predictable.

Sometimes the most honest question is also the simplest one – Would I use this again soon? Not because I have to, but because it felt straightforward enough and was actually useful.

How do people remember software? Usually, they don’t remember the parts that worked.

They remember the one thing that broke the flow. The pop-up that made no sense or the time they had to go find out where and how to swap for a missing token.

Good infrastructure has a kind of humility to it. It doesn’t ask to be admired. It just keeps the path clear.

One thing this space still gets wrong is that it assumes everyone wants to become a power user. Most people don’t.

Most people want to send something, try something, check something, then move on. That doesn’t make them less important. It just... normal, and products should respect that.

The occasional user is still a user.

In the real world, merchants handle associated costs in the background and price them into the experience.

Web3 can borrow that idea without losing decentralization.

Either the apps can sponsor execution when it makes sense, or users can cover costs in what they already hold.

Stablecoins exist for a reason: predictability, simplicity, speed.

The experience should match that.

When a “simple send” turns into prep work, extra swaps, gas, or route decisions, the product stops feeling like money and starts feeling like a project. At what point does this become banking with extra steps?

The "boring" path is the winning path.

Most apps let you undo. Web3 often doesn’t.

That changes how people behave which includes hesitation to try new things. When a system is irreversible, the UX interface has to do more work up front to respect that reality with clearer intent and fewer “mystery” actions.

People can handle paying for a network. What they struggle with is uncertainty.

When costs feel unpredictable, the whole experience becomes a small gamble, and most users don’t enjoy the feeling of "gambling" with basic actions.

A sane system makes costs predictable and keeps the payment logic aligned with what the user already has in hand. That’s how you make crypto feel usable outside of enthusiast circles.

A lot of wallet prompts read like they are written for a machine and not a person.

This usually leads to one of the two reactions: panic (people back out) or autopilot (people click through). Neither is healthy.

Clear intent at the moment of signature is a form of safety because it prevents blind trust

Cross-chain is powerful, but the experience still feels like crossing borders with paperwork.

You’re managing the process that involves routes, waits, and a nagging sense that you might end up stranded mid-way.

Until that experience becomes calmer, a lot of users will keep choosing “to stay put” over “trying new”.

Power users can tolerate almost anything. The real test is the person who returns after a few weeks and barely remembers the steps.

If they can still complete the action cleanly without re-learning the workflow, that’s maturity. The future belongs to systems that don’t require warm-up rituals.

If the first time someone tries your product they’re forced into lengthy prep work, you’re not really onboarding them. It's more like you're filtering your users.

Most people don’t want or not ready to be made “crypto-native” when they come to try and app or a service. They want one clean action that works, then they decide whether it’s worth coming back.

That first minute is where trust is won or lost.
