SUPPLY OF CONDUCTORS AND WIRES

The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a Loan from the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), hereinafter called the Bank, towards the cost of supply of conductors and wires for rural electrification in the Somalia regional state around Degahabur. It is intended to apply part of the proceeds of the Loan to cover eligible payments under the contract for the supply of Conductors. Bidding is open to all bidders from eligible countries for the procurement of goods.
The Ethiopian Electric Utility (EEU), hereinafter referred to as "the employer", now invites sealed bids from eligible countries to participate for the supply of conductors and wires.
Tendering will be by International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures, taking into consideration the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), only bidders from countries which are not subjected to boycott under the regulations in force in the states of BADEA and employers are eligible to bid. All goods and auxiliary services to be supplied must have origin from countries which are not subjected to boycott under the regulations in force in the state of BADEA and employer
The bid document shall be available from October 23, 2024, onward against payment of a non-refundable fee of Birr 4000.00 (Four thousand Birr) or in a convertible currency at the address: The method of payment will be cash payment at PPMO cashier's check or deposited to the Ethiopian Electric Utility accounts: EEU-Electrification Program Foreign Currency A/C No. 0101181300064 with National Bank of Ethiopia, for foreign currencies or deposited to the Ethiopian Electric Utility accounts: EEU-UEAP Account No 2.:1000604742556, Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE), Mehteme Gandi branch, for the local account.
Bidders who purchase the bid document will be considered eligible to submit bids.
All bids must be accompanied by a bid security in the amount equivalent to the amount USD 50,000 (Fifty thousand US Dollars) in a freely convertible currency. The bid security shall be an unconditional Bank guarantee from a reputable Bank and must be counter-guaranteed by any Bank operating in Ethiopia it remains valid for a period of Twenty-Eight (28) days beyond the original bid validity period which will be (120+28) days.
