The bar chart compares changes in the number of individuals employed as in sales, accounting, computing, nursing and farming in an Australian region in 2001 and 2008. Overall, the figures for workers in sales, computing and nursing showed rising trends, with those in sales recording the highest number in both years questioned. In contrast, accounting staff and farm workers declined at varying degrees, and farming employed the lowest number of people.
Delving into details, sales β the most popular option for working β had over 150,000 employees in 2001, which increased considerably by 2008, reaching about 165,000. Rising trajectories were also seen in computing and nursing, which represented an equal number of recruits at 50,000 in 2001. While the formerβs total grew markedly to over 65,000, that of the latter rose to under 60,000 in the second year surveyed.
As regards accounting and farming, exactly 60,000 people were employed as accountants in 2001 and those in farming made up over 22,000. These numbers dropped slightly between the given years, amounting to 58,000 and 18,000, respectively.
