Ontem (3), o Guinness World Records informou ao jornal israelense The Jerusalem Post que não está aceitando novas inscrições vindas de Israel. Segundo a organização, a política está em vigor desde novembro de 2023 e só há exceção para iniciativas realizadas em parceria com agências de ajuda humanitária da ONU. O GWR afirmou que acompanha a situação de perto e que a medida passa por revisão mensal, com a expectativa de retomar as análises em breve.

A decisão veio à tona após a ONG Matnat Chaim tentar registrar o recorde de maior encontro de doadores vivos de rim do mundo numa foto com 2 mil voluntários em Jerusalém. O projeto, planejado desde 2019 e suspenso durante a pandemia, foi retomado neste ano. A organização enviou diversas mensagens ao Guinness entre agosto e setembro, mas não recebeu resposta. Depois, foi informada de que o órgão não poderia colaborar com o evento. A ONG afirmou ter recebido com surpresa a recusa, já que a iniciativa é totalmente altruísta.

O ministro das Relações Exteriores de Israel, Gideon Sa’ar, classificou a decisão como “inaceitável” e exigiu sua imediata revisão. Para ele, negar reconhecimento a um feito humanitário dessa dimensão, fruto da solidariedade de doadores israelenses, é uma distorção de princípios básicos de justiça e responsabilidade social. Em resposta via rede social X, os organizadores do Guinness repetiram o que parece ser o mesmo discurso pronto que já havia sido dado ao The Jerusalem Post, sem qualquer personalização na justificativa: não estão processando solicitações de recordes dos Territórios Palestinos ou de Israel desde novembro de 2023, com exceção daquelas feitas junto à ONU; entendem a delicadeza da situação e a política passa por revisão mensal.

On October 7, 2023, as Hamas terrorists attacked entire communities in southern Israel, Ran Gvili (24), a police officer in Israel’s Yasam counter-terror unit, did not hesitate to respond, even while recovering from a broken shoulder. In his heroic actions, Ran helped save lives and was shot in the leg.

On January 31, 2024, it was confirmed that Ran was murdered by terrorists on October 7 and then kidnapped into Gaza. We will not stop fighting until he is home.

A new research paper in the Journal of Historical Studies, authored by Dr. Jürgen Matthäus, reveals how artificial intelligence helped confirm the identity of a Nazi depicted in the infamous Holocaust photo from 1941. The process of confirming the identity began when someone contacted the researcher, suspecting that the individual in the photo might be a relative. The family provided photographs of the suspected person, and AI analysis confirmed that this person, Jakobus Onnen, was a 99.9% match with the Nazi in this infamous and horrific photograph.

Ao se desculpar, o ator afirmou que, em seu apoio à causa palestina, acabou republicando conteúdos incorretos. Ele declarou: “Tenho consciência de como compartilhar conteúdo impreciso pode causar confusão e angústia; por isso, peço profundas desculpas. Certamente me esforçarei para ser mais diligente no futuro e verificar tudo o que compartilho online.”

Segundo o Jewish News, Pearce havia compartilhado material com declarações de comentaristas conhecidos por teorias extremistas, além de textos que associavam judeus a crimes como o 11 de Setembro e a empresas de pornografia, o que gerou grande repercussão crítica. Na última quarta-feira (26), uma nova pesquisa apresentada na conferência anual "Israelis in Europe Against Antisemitism" mostrou que quase 65% dos israelenses que vivem no continente se sentem menos seguros desde o massacre de 7 de Outubro. O relatório reflete o aumento expressivo do antissemitismo atualmente e motivou reações de organizações como a Comunidade Israelense na Europa (ICE) e o Movimento de Combate ao Antissemitismo (CAM), que organizaram a conferência para discutir o tema.

O estudo aponta ainda um declínio acentuado na sensação de segurança pessoal e revela que 70% dos entrevistados testemunharam ou sofreram incidentes antissemitas após os ataques terroristas do Hamas no Sul de Israel. Muitos passaram a evitar símbolos israelenses ou judaicos em espaços públicos.

Maya Wolfberg, diretora do Departamento de Antissemitismo e Memória do Holocausto do ICE, afirmou: "Para mim, esta conferência não é apenas um evento, é um processo, tanto pessoal quanto coletivo". Ela acrescentou: "Como neta de sobreviventes do Holocausto que vivenciaram o período estando escondidos, é difícil aceitar que hoje existam israelenses e judeus na Europa que sintam a necessidade de se esconder por causa de sua identidade".

November 29th, 2025, should have been Shani Gabay’s 28th birthday, but her life was stolen by hate.

On October 7, 2023, Shani was at the Nova Festival in southern Israel when the Hamas massacre erupted. Initially, her family believed that she had been kidnapped into Gaza, as her remains could not be located.

Forty-eight days later, Shani’s family received devastating news: Shani had been murdered that day and her remains had been accidentally buried with those of another young woman. During the massacre, Shani and others had taken shelter in an ambulance that was brutally targeted by Hamas RPGs, murdering everyone inside.

May Shani’s memory forever be a blessing. 🕯️

We were honoured to support Avi Rosenfeld on his UK speaking tour over the last two weeks. Avi came to speak about his son Natan, who grew up in London before making Aliyah and joining the IDF. Natan was killed in action in Gaza in June, saving 16 fellow soldiers in the same incident. Avi spoke to over 900 people in schools, campuses, and communities across the UK. Locations included JCoSS, Immanuel College, King David Manchester, JLE, Manchester University, Birmingham Hillel, and Leeds Jewish Society. Thank you to all of our host venues, and a big thank you to Avi for sharing his story with our community!
