Qualifications and skills:
• Proven experience in IP management within a technology‑driven or R&D environment
• Strong understanding of patent processes, trade secrets, and IP strategy
• Ability to engage with technical experts and translate complex concepts into clear IP assets
• Excellent project management, organizational, and stakeholder engagement skills
Responsibilities:
• Support, develop, and execute IP strategies aligned with business objectives, technology roadmaps, and market opportunities
• Collaborate with R&D and engineering teams to identify innovation areas and ensure timely protection of IP
• Manage the invention capture and evaluation process, working with inventors and facilitating Patent Evaluation Board reviews
• Coordinate with external patent attorneys on drafting, filing, and prosecution of patent applications, ensuring deadlines, compliance, and budget adherence
• Partner with business development, legal, and commercial teams to identify and execute IP monetization opportunities, including licensing and technology transactions
• Support licensing activities, including licensing‑out and licensing‑in, and contribute to identifying value‑generation opportunities from the IP portfolio
• Support activities related to third‑party rights, including monitoring competitor IP, evaluating risks, and engaging in proceedings or negotiations
• Support due diligence and freedom‑to‑operate reviews for new projects and ventures
• Develop and deliver IP awareness and training programs across the organization
• Promote a culture of innovation and IP protection and provide guidance on confidentiality best practices
• Manage IP budget and resource allocation for filings, prosecution, licensing, legal proceedings, and operational spend
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of the IP portfolio and licensing activities
• Provide reporting and analysis on patent portfolio performance, IP challenges, and alignment with business objectives
• Support periodic IP portfolio reviews and audits to identify strengths, gaps, and strategic opportunities
• Serve as the primary coordination point for IP‑related contract support, working with Legal and business teams
• Act as liaison between R&D, IP, legal, and commercial teams to align deliverables and commercialization efforts
• Establish and maintain tracking systems for key innovation projects, coordinating across teams to ensure timeline adherence
• Serve as central point of contact for supplier engagement, collaborating with finance, legal, and technical teams to streamline onboarding and payment workflows
