The White House’s proposed FY2027 budget would eliminate NCCIH, the only NIH center dedicated to researching non-drug, integrative approaches to health.

That means less research into:
• Nutrition and whole-body health
• Chiropractic and acupuncture
• Supplements and probiotics
• Yoga, meditation, and lifestyle medicine
• Non-opioid pain care

For more than 20 years, NCCIH has helped build the scientific foundation for health freedom and evidence-based natural medicine. Eliminating it would send a clear message that pharmaceutical interventions are prioritized over whole-person care.

This is especially alarming under a MAHA-aligned administration. Americans voted for more health freedom, more prevention, and less dependence on drugs, not the defunding of the one federal institution studying alternatives.

Congress is drafting the budget NOW, and the House Appropriations Committee hearing is set for June 5, 2026. There is still time to act.

SB4 was meant to end forced fluoridation, not protect it.

Recent changes weaken the bill, allowing existing mandates to continue and making it harder for communities to opt out. That’s not a ban. That’s the status quo.

No one, and no government, should mandate a medical intervention without consent.
