UNI PRICES ARE EXPECTED TO FALL BY AS MUCH AS 70%! 📉

Freshly arrived 888 Uni is estimated to land at around $50–$55 per 250g tray, compared to the $110–$130 range we have been seeing over the past few weeks.

Even better, quality is expected to improve significantly as harvest locations have shifted, bringing in sweeter, creamier, and more consistent batches.

It has been quite some time since we last saw truly attractive uni prices, and this could be one of the best buying opportunities in recent weeks.

A few months ago, I met a chef — Chef Ace — whom I came to deeply respect. Not just because of the food he creates, but because of who he is as a person. He is calm, kind, and grounded — the kind of person you don’t come across often.

I first tried his food in September last year and was genuinely moved by it. When the opportunity came earlier this year to start something together, I didn’t hesitate. It felt like one of those rare moments you just know you shouldn’t let go. And that’s how ASIN was born.

Fast forward to today, we’ve just received our SFA license this week, and we’re finally ready to welcome our first guests. I won’t lie — it’s not the easiest time to open, with everything happening around the world. But I believe very deeply in Chef Ace, and in what we’re trying to build together.

From 6 May onwards, we will officially open our doors.

Our menu changes every three months, following the seasons. For our first chapter, Summer ‘26, Chef Ace has created a menu featuring ingredients we import through Suguru alongside ingredients from across the region. The 8-course experience is priced at $188++ per person.

I had the chance to try the menu, and I walked away feeling proud — not just of the food, but of the heart and effort the team has poured into this.

The consistency of Bafun Uni have been very wobbly recently. And that also means one thing, that the season for Bafun Uni is ending very soon. Last year, after the 1 May Golden Week Holiday, prices went up a lot and Bafun Uni started going out of season.

The past few weeks we also started seeing more inconsistency.

But this weekend (yesterday’s arrival) was very good! Look at the color, dryness and when we smell it, no traces of alum.

For Bafun Uni lovers, thank you for the great run from November till now! We are not too sure how long more season will go for.

If you are looking for some great deals, prices still remain very good for Bafun Uni this weekend!
