A few months after the Eiffel Tower was inaugurated…

WIRR has been alerted to a major change in anomaly gameplay, to be tested at the XM anomaly in Paris. Here’s what was shared.

🔴In order to "increase tactical fluidity" and "adapt to the evolution of XM", Niantic plans to implement an astonishing feature: Machina targets.

🔴By landing a Shard on a Machina target, it is expected you "delete" it from the game area. We expect to see any number of machina targets in the playbox, which could create some quite chaotic gameplay.

🔴If you're stuck with a Shard and can't move it to your own Target, it would be possible to get rid of it, preventing the opposing faction from scoring.

🇨🇿 CZRES SHARD DOUBLE

🌩 On the weekend of 13th & 14th December, Niantic stormed the Czech Republic with not one, but two Shards, with only 186 kilometres between them!

🏆 The stakes were uniquely high, with not only the +Beta Season points on the line, but also the first impression of the May 16 https://res.blue/group/prague-megahype announced just 5 days earlier!

🛡 The dauntless CZRES agents picked up the challenge and along with friends from neighbouring countries engaged the ENL in both Prague and Brno over the fate of these Shards!

1️⃣December 13 - Prague

Prague battle started slowly, with both factions testing the opponent's capabilities.

A fierce battle started shortly before the first jump, with the Resistance gaining control and clearing the lane mere seconds before the jump time.

Having successfully removed the Shard from the city center to the periphery, the Resistance moved to the second part of the plan - moving the Shard out of the city.

But the ENL followed and using a well timed flip and defense managed to hold the portal for the second jump...

RES regrouped and with a strong determination took control of the remaining jumps and eventually moved the Shard out of the Prague borders!

🎖Prague Result: RES 20 x 0 ENL

2️⃣December 14 - Brno

Brno has seen an intense battle since the very start with both factions giving it everything they've got!

But then - the dynamic immunity entered the picture and the battle turned into a precision flip fest!

ENL had the first shot at scoring points, but their hopes were crushed with a precision flip at 14:00:00.830, removing the link moments before the jump.

The second opportunity was captured by RES, but the ENL returned the favour and flipped down the blue link in a similar fashion.

With a combination of a smart gameplay and unfavourable dynamic immunity, neither faction was able to score, with the only move being a random jump!

🎖Brno Result: RES 0 x 0 ENL

🦁 When the dust settled, CZRES managed to extend it's undefeated streak, running from the 2018 Brno Anomaly 🥰 huge thanks to all our friends from abroad who decided to join us and fight alongside us - you made a great difference! 💙
