Like stocks, FCPO has a morning and afternoon session with a lunch break in between.

But unlike stocks, FCPO also has an additional night session — and knowing all three is important for your strategy.

FCPO Trading Hours (Malaysian Time):

🕙 Morning Session
Pre-market: 10:00am
Trading: 10:30am – 12:30pm

🕑 Afternoon Session
Pre-market: 2:00pm
Trading: 2:30pm – 6:00pm

🌙 Night Session
Pre-market: 8:30pm
Trading: 9:00pm – 11:00pm

These sessions matter for a few reasons:

📌 Entry timing — your strategy signals can only trigger during the trading hours.

📌 Intraday vs Swing — positions opened from 9:00pm and closed before 6:00pm the following day qualify for half margin (RM4,500). Positions held past 6:00pm are considered overnight and require full margin (RM9,000).

📌 Backtesting accuracy — TradingView's backtest only runs on bars within these sessions, which is why the bar count per day is lower than a 24-hour market.

Essential plan (10,000 bars) offers approximately half of the above durations.

A few things worth knowing:

🇲🇾 RM-denominated — margin, profits and losses are all in Ringgit. No currency conversion risk.

📊 Locally regulated — under the Securities Commission Malaysia and Bursa Malaysia.

⚡️ Two-way trading — you can participate in both rising and falling markets.

💰 Margin-based — a deposit known as margin is required, which is a fraction of the total contract value.

📈 Tick value — minimum price movement is 1 tick = RM25 per contract.

✅ Shariah-compliant — as stated by Bursa Malaysia.
