✅ What is DAAD In-Country / In-Region Scholarship Programme
PART 2


👤 Who Can Apply — Eligibility (For Ethiopian / Sub-Saharan Students)
General eligibility criteria:
You must be a citizen or permanent resident of a Sub-Saharan African country (so Ethiopia qualifies).

For a Master’s application: you need a first academic degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent);

for PhD: a Master’s degree.
Your previous degree should have been completed within a certain period (often not more than 6 years ago at the time of application)

for eligibility.
You must show good academic performance (e.g. “above average” or “second class upper” in bachelor’s), though exact required grades may vary per call.

You must demonstrate language skills — the language of instruction (usually English).
Some calls encourage or prioritise female applicants and people from underprivileged regions or groups.

Important: Because DAAD scholarships require both: (a) admission to a host university, and (b) approval of scholarship — you must apply for university admission and the scholarship.

📝 How to Apply (for an Ethiopian Applicant)
Go to the official call for applications in the relevant year via the DAAD portal / official DAAD-Ethiopia website.
Prepare required documents — commonly:
Completed DAAD application form
Curriculum Vitae (CV) — often in European format
