The National Bank of Ethiopia has announced that:
The nationwide program to link bank accounts with the Fayda digital ID (started on December 10, 2025 / Tahsas 1, 2018 E. C.) was originally scheduled to end on April 8, 2026 (Megabit 30, 2018 E. C.).
However, after discussions with stakeholders, it has been agreed to extend the deadline one time.
The new deadline has NOT yet been decided.

The Education Assessment and Examinations Service has announced that registration for the 2018 academic year 12th grade national exam is currently in progress.
The agency reminded students that they must complete their registration within the given deadline. In particular, students who are retaking the exam privately are required to register using the self-service portal at: https://register.eaes.et/�
The office also warned that any student who fails to complete the required registration will not be allowed to sit for the exam.

The deadline to submit exit exam complaints is tomorrow (Friday) until 10:00.
Every complaint will be reviewed and answered, but responses may take time due to many requests.
Students are advised to be patient and only submit valid complaints.
Complaints can be submitted in writing, and students will be notified (by phone or system) if there is any result change.
If not satisfied, students can submit another complaint.minister of education
Passing or failing the exit exam does not define your future.

Dire Dawa University, the graduation ceremony that was expected to take place on March 14, 2026 (Megabit 5, 2018 E. C.) has been postponed, causing complaints from graduating students and their families.
Students said their families had already booked train, bus, and flight tickets to attend the ceremony based on the previously shared date. However, the announcement that the ceremony was postponed only five days before the event caused financial losses for many families, especially those who could not refund or reschedule their tickets.
The university responded that no official graduation date had been announced, explaining that the earlier information was informal and shared by the student union, which led to the confusion.
According to the university, the graduation will take place immediately after the national exit exam results are officially released. However, the date for the release of these results has not yet been announced.

What Do the Tax Rates on Rental Income Look Like?
According to Proclamation No. 1395/2025, issued to amend the Federal Government Income Tax Proclamation, changes have been introduced to the calculation of rental income tax for individuals.
This new tax rate structure clearly specifies the amount of tax payable by individuals who earn income from renting residential or commercial properties.
What Does the Calculation Information Released by the Ministry Look Like?
Based on the proclamation, the annual rental income tax brackets are as follows:
If an individual earns up to 24,000 birr per year from rental income, no income tax (0%) is required.
From 24,001 to 48,000 birr annual income
Tax rate: 15%
3,600 birr deductible amount.
From 48,001 to 84,000 birr annual income
Tax rate: 20%
6,000 birr deductible amount.
From 84,001 to 120,000 birr annual income
Tax rate: 25%
10,200 birr deductible amount.
From 120,001 to 168,000 birr annual income
Tax rate: 30%
16,200 birr deductible amount.
Above 168,000 birr annual income
Tax rate: 35%
24,600 birr deductible amount.
