Welcome to Harvard, Borte!
Borte has been accepted to Harvard University with a full-ride scholarship. Her impressive academic achievements include a SAT score of 1530, 7 AP exams and an IELTS score of 8. This fall, she will begin her studies in Mechanical Engineering at Harvard. Borte comes from Astana, Kazakhstan, where she attends National school of physics and math. Beyond her academic pursuits, Borte engaged in the Global Problem Solving Institute, where she worked on a research paper on psoriasis. She also independently worked on research papers on rhetorical analysis across multiple languages and literature, and developed an art portfolio to strengthen her application.
Last year, Borte was accepted to the Ivy Bridge program in July. During this program, she not only delved deeper into her chosen major but also gained valuable insights into crafting successful applications, slowly building the foundations of her own acceptance. In November, she joined the Full Support program, where she continued building her applications under the guidance of her mentors Bobirjon, Yakhyo, and Shakhnoza. The next four months were filled with numerous 1-on-1 sessions, tens of pages of essay drafts, and hundreds of comments on Borte's application file on Google Docs.
Borte on her admission journey:
Harvard has always had my heart, and it still feels surreal to say that I’m on my way to a place I’ve dreamed about for so long.
The application process is long, demanding, and at times overwhelming. What made a real difference was having people I could turn to. People who had already gone through this path and who understood the pressure.
Having mentors who played such a meaningful role in this journey is something I’m deeply grateful for.
With her acceptance letter, Borte and Dilafruz stand as the only undergraduate Harvard admits from Central Asia in this admissions cycle. B&S Admissions and its team extend their warmest congratulations to Borte, wishing her success and luck in her future projects and plans. We hope to assist more students from Central Asia in realizing their dreams of studying at Harvard.
Congratulations, Borte!
