Gaming and animation industry is another growth opportunity in Uzbekistan!
Driven by the visionary policy of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the high attention given to the gaming and animation sector, Uzbekistan is rapidly emerging as the region's largest industrial hub. Over the past three years, our video game industry exports have surged 21-fold, reaching $200 million. The number of IT Park resident companies has tripled to 75. Today, with the support of the Ministry of Digital Technologies, more than 2,000 youth are receiving free training in game development and animation.
These current achievements and future goals were vividly highlighted at the "GameFest-2026" international game and animation festival held on May 15-16. The event welcomed over 100 companies from more than 40 countries, gathering over 10,000 participants, professionals, and speakers over two days. The festival featured vibrant cosplay shows and a Game Jam with a prize pool of 125 million UZS. Most importantly, a historic signing ceremony was held to establish the "World GameDev and Animation Association."
As part of the festival, the "Strategy for the Development of the Game and Animation Sector until 2030" was presented to the public. According to this strategy, by 2030, the number of IT Park resident companies will reach 400, and sector exports will hit $1 billion. Special conditions will be created in the regions to train 10,000 specialists by 2030. By the end of 2026, a 4,532 sq.m professional GameDev-Hub, equipped with Motion Capture and Lidar studios, will be established in the center of our capital. Furthermore, $100 million in venture capital is planned to be allocated to support startups and projects.
