Це була його мрія - така кількість червоно-чорних, чорних та інших анархістських прапорів разом із жовто-блакитними на Майдані Незалежності. Шкода, що це стало можливим лише завдяки його загибелі.
Давид здійснив революцію, і соціальну, і естетичну. Відтак прощання із ним нагадувало політичну акцію: люди прийшли навіть із прапорами з організаційною символікою.
Мені ж на похованні Давида представники військової частини вручили прапор України на знак тих цінностей, які він захищав, жертвуючи власним життям. Цей символічний обмін людини на прапор мені і досі важко помислити.
Ми з Давидом завжди шанували та відзначали День Незалежності та День Конституції України, а українські прапор і герб ніколи не були для мене абстрактними символами. Бо для мене, як і для Давида, Україна завжди була моїм проєктом.
Однак тепер цей прапор значить для мене щось дуже конкретне - він облитий кров'ю Давида. За незалежність України, за нашу демократію, Давид віддав життя. Я завжди памятатиму про це. Пам'ятайте і ви.

This was his dream – such a number of red-and-black, black, and other anarchist flags together with the blue-and-yellow ones on Independence Square. It’s a pity that this became possible only thanks to his death.
David carried out a revolution – both social and aesthetic. Therefore, the farewell to him resembled a political action: people came even with flags of organizations and symbols.
For me, seeing representatives of the military at David’s funeral carrying the Ukrainian flag in front of those who had died defending it, sacrificing their own lives, was deeply moving. This symbolic exchange of a human life for a flag is still difficult for me to comprehend.
David and I always honored and celebrated Independence Day and Constitution Day of Ukraine, and the Ukrainian flag and coat of arms were never abstract symbols for me. Because for me, as for David, Ukraine has always been my project.
But now this flag means something very concrete to me – it is soaked in blood, in David’s blood. For Ukraine’s independence, for our democracy, David gave his life. And I will always remember this. You should remember it too.
