Mais Rago est en fuite, poursuivi aussi bien par des exorcistes que par ses propres pairs ! Un démon ne tarde pas à retrouver sa trace, et un combat épique s'engage. Jiro, imbattable contre de simples humains, ne fait pas le poids face à un monstre... Pour sauver son bienfaiteur de la mort, Rago n'a d'autre option que de recourir à une technique de possession. Un humain et un Mononoke alliés dans un même corps, on n'avait jamais vu ça ! Exorcistes ou esprits, quel camp choisiront-ils ?
