Happy birthday to Karl Marx — not just a theorist but an organizer and revolutionary.
Born 1818, Marx changed the world by being the first to analyze capitalism’s core contradictions. He turned that analysis into a science for the road to liberation: the communist revolution.
He co-founded the First International — the first global organization of workers, which later laid the groundwork for socialist parties and trade unions worldwide.
Marx shaped how the world understood the Paris Commune – analyzing it as a living example of proletarian rule and a turning point in revolutionary theory.
From the Soviet Union to China, Africa to Latin America, Marxism lit the spark for struggles that overturned empires and broke chains. As Engels said: “Fighting was his element.”
Here are some of our favorite quotes from his work — what are yours?

Today, in 2002, right-wing forces backed by the US attempted to overthrow former Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez, but were ultimately defeated by popular resistance. Watch this powerful speech by the Bolivarian revolutionary, who rallied thousands against imperialism.
On April 11, 2002, the Venezuelan elite, the Church, and segments of the military organized a coup against then-President Hugo Chávez. However, the Venezuelan people flooded the streets to defend the Bolivarian Revolution and overpowered the US-backed right-wing coup.
The coup plotters aimed to install a de facto government led by Pedro Carmona, a business mogul and former president of the chamber of commerce, who intended to dissolve all other state powers and local authorities.
The people brought Chávez back to power within just 47 hours. The counterrevolutionary offensive backfired, as the mass mobilization politicized wider segments of the population, who organized themselves into Bolivarian collectives.

You can't make this up.
It's World Press Freedom Day, and these posters are on my doorstep: "Free Press. Protect what matters to us."
The very same EU council literally sanctioned me and http://red.media/ for exactly that.
This is definitely going to be my campaign poster.

This is the German newspaper Tagesspiegel headline after Israel bombed entire neighborhoods in Lebanon, killing hundreds of civilians and sabotaging the ceasefire with Iran.
This is not journalism. This is a disinformation campaign to cover up war crimes.

Happy birthday to the Palestinian resistance icon and former guerrilla fighter, Leila Khaled! She went down in history for her fearless operations and is still active for the Palestinian cause today.
Her family had to flee Israeli ethnic cleansing from their hometown Haifa when Khaled was only a small child, ending up as refugees in Lebanon. Khaled and her family later joined the Marxist-Leninist Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), which schooled her in the Guerrilla struggle in the hinterland of the Jordanian capital Amman.
Khaled and the PFLP gained attention in 1969 for hijacking a passenger plane without bloodshed, based on the suspicion that the former Israeli ambassador to the U. S. was onboard. The photo of Khaled wearing the kuffiyeh and carrying an AK-47 rifle, being the first woman ever to hijack a plane, spread across the globe.

Israel is carrying out one of the largest attacks in Lebanon in years despite the ceasefire.
Dozens of buildings in Beirut have reportedly been flattened, with massive civilian casualties.
Netanyahu is actively undermining the fragile US–Iran truce by escalating attacks on civilians in Lebanon.
From Tehran’s perspective, abandoning Lebanon would strategically backfire — making further escalation increasingly likely.

The EU sanctioned me and my media outlet for covering Palestine protests in Germany. It’s part of Europe’s growing authoritarianism and militarism, cloaked in language of fighting disinformation and defending democracy.

BREAKING: Pro-Palestinian activists have occupied a facility of German arms giant Rheinmetall in Berlin, one of Israel’s key weapons suppliers during the genocide in Palestine.
They demand an immediate halt to arms exports to Israel and an end to Germany’s complicity.

Sanctions against red. Media founder Hüseyin Dogru.
“What we are experiencing here feels like a coordinated form of repression. My life and that of my family have effectively been pushed into a legal vacuum,” Doğru said. A situation is emerging in which he cannot use existing law to protect himself, while that same law continues to be enforced against him.
