🕷After years of criticism for Boruto: Naruto Next Generations - A series where 206 out of 293 episodes were pure filler (yes, 70%) - the studio is completely overhauling how the next anime is made.
🚀Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, the sequel manga by Mikio Ikemoto supervised
by Masashi Kishimoto, is getting a full seasonal anime adaptation.
4️⃣Think Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War. Think Demon Slayer. High budget, no filler, cinematic quality per episode.
🔡Studio Pierrot president Michiyuki Honma confirmed the format shift
directly - stating the traditional weekly model no longer works in today's market, and that Ufotable's success with Demon Slayer forced them to rethink everything.
🛡No official premiere date is confirmed yet. The studio is intentionally waiting for the manga to build enough of a buffer before production locks in - smart, given how badly the first series suffered from
catching up too fast.
❄️Where's the manga right now?
Chapter 32 just dropped. The story is deep in Konoha's crisis arc - Divine Tree Mamushi is rampaging through the village, Boruto and Koji Kashin are scrambling to prevent the worst outcome, and Momoshiki's presence is growing harder for Boruto to ignore. Naruto and Hinata are still sealed in Daikokuten. Sasuke? Still missing. Their return is realistically nowhere close - multiple arcs away at minimum.
The Two Blue Vortex manga starts with Boruto as a wanted criminal framed by Kawaki after Eida's Omnipotence rewrote the world's memories.
Darker tone, higher stakes, more mature story than anything the first
series attempted.
