The GREAT UN-Brainwashing
45. The phenomenon known as Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) is a derogatory term used to describe an intense, often irrational hostility towards President Trump. It is applied to critics of Trump who react excessively or obsessively to actions taken by him or his policies or persona. It may occur because of the inability to reconcile a personal, emotionally charged narrative with tangible facts. This is likely influenced by factors like cognitive dissonance (#7), social contagion (#11), authority bias (#6), propaganda techniques (#25), mass formation (#23) and the mockingbird media.
Contextually, over 70,000 self-proclaimed mental health experts have signed a petition declaring that Trump himself is mentally ill and must be removed. This biased perception is focused both on Donald Trump and his ardent supporters. The Urban Dictionary defines it as, โ...a mental condition in which a person has been driven effectively insane due to their dislike of Donald Trump, to the point at which they will abandon all logic and reason.โ
The first iteration of the term was 'Bush Derangement Syndrome', coined by the late conservative columnist Charles Krauthammer in 2003. He defined the condition as โthe acute onset of paranoia in otherwise normal people in reaction to the policies, the presidencyโnayโthe very existence of George W. Bush.โ This was the result of policies applied by Bush post 9/11 and with the war in Iraq. It has since also applied to Obama, but more for his personality, often considered untrustworthy, or even traitorous.
Justin Raimondo, the editorial director of the Antiwar website, wrote a piece in the Los Angeles Times in 2016 where he describes the three phases of TDS.
1. In the first stage of the disease, victims lose all sense of proportion. (Overracting to a Tweet.)
2. The mid-level stages of TDS have a profound effect on the victimโs vocabulary: Sufferers speak a distinctive language consisting solely of hyperbole.
3. As TDS progresses, the afflicted lose the ability to distinguish fantasy from reality.
Rob Whitley, a psychiatry professor, describes TDS as a type of reverse Beatlemania or the hysteria experienced at an Elvis concert. The extreme emotions actually elicit physiological responses as they did in the sixties, just not for adoration, but rather, hatred. As with all stressful situations, these can lead to depression, anxiety, aggression, confusion and with that, many physical ailments.
Earlier in 2025, a bill was introduced in Minnesota seeking to revise state law to include Trump Derangement Syndrome as a form of mental illness. The bill defines TDS as:
โThe acute onset of paranoia in otherwise normal persons that is in reaction to the policies and presidencies of President Trump. Symptoms may include general hysteria and the inability to distinguish between legitimate policy differences and signs of psychic pathology in President Donald J. Trumpโs behavior." It adds that โverbal expressions of intense hostility with overt acts of aggression and violenceโ against Trump supporters.
What appears most egregious and causes great internal conflict is when a hated figure relays information that is deemed good, moral or beneficial. This is perfectly exemplified at the address to Congress, where Trump recognised 'DJ' Daniel, the 13-year-old cancer survivor, as an honourary member of the Secret Service and no Democrat applauded. Just how much TDS is influenced by the media,ย celebrities or those in respected positions?
TDS may give us a forward view into the next phase of the operation and what we can expect from individuals as they learn the truth about our very existence at the hands of the deep state. What we have had years to process, others may need to absorb in days or weeks. Although it may not be directed at Trump specifically, many will seek someone or something to blame. It is time to prepare ourselves physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
