Welcome to Somalia — a land where Islam remains deeply rooted, and love for the Qur’ān and Sunnah is widespread. May Allāh bless it with complete stability.
While Somalia is home to many scholars and centres of knowledge, I would like to highlight a recent initiative under the supervision of Sheikh Abu Mashkhoor Abdushakoor Al-Isrāfīli.
Admission Requirements for Students
In the Name of Allāh, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
To proceed:
I have received numerous inquiries, both locally and internationally, regarding Masjid Ash-Shākirīn and the process of admitting students who wish to enroll in the centre.
In response: This centre, like other centres adhering to the manhaj of Ahlus-Sunnah wal Jamā‘ah, operates in accordance with their principles — by the grace of Allāh, the Exalted. Announcements regarding general and individual lessons, as well as student stages, will be made with Allāh’s permission.
However, we have set certain conditions for those who wish to study at the centre. The most important of these are:
1. The student must have reached maturity. If not, a guardian must be present to accompany and oversee them.
2. The student must be well-mannered, upright in conduct, and known for good character and behaviour. Their appearance and attire should reflect that of the righteous.
3. The student must have a recommendation from known and trusted brothers among the seekers of knowledge or others, along with a guarantor.
4. The student must not belong to any political group or sect, and should not be currently enrolled in a school or university.
5. There must be no visible signs of open sin, such as shaving the beard, engaging in Tasweer, or consuming intoxicants.
6. The student should possess at least a basic understanding of Arabic, as the general lessons in the centre are delivered in Arabic.
These conditions apply specifically to adult students who sit and study at the institute, and not to others.
