Mahant Swami Maharaj was asked, 'How did you remain steadfast in observing the niyams during your college life?'
Yogiji Maharaj had instructed me to do so. Hence, there was no other thought after that. One has to follow agnas. I obeyed his agna. Let others say what they want. When we realize who our guru is, then his instructions should be obeyed immediately. Firstly, follow his agna, then spiritual knowledge will dawn. No matter what happens, obey his word. O, how great Maharaj and Swami are!

Mahant Swami Maharaj was asked, 'What should one do to spiritually benefit from the Satpurush so that one can always remember him?'
Having a spiritual understanding is a very big thing. Once one gets it, all physical, mental and other problems will get solved. The total time Shastriji Maharaj had spent with Bhagatji Maharaj was three years. But he remained happy due to samjan. He had to wear white clothes for three years, but he still remained happy due to samjan. Thus, spiritual understanding or samjan is useful.

Shastriji Maharaj once visited the old Swaminarayan mandir in Vadodara. After darshan, he sat on a seat in the assembly hall. A senior sadhu from the sampradaya walked into the mandir. His eyes fell on Shastriji Maharaj. Unable to bear the rising popularity of Shastriji Maharaj the brewing envy within him turned into a rage.
At first, he started abusing Shastriji Maharaj verbally. Next, he started pushing and shoving Shastriji Maharaj, who remained calm. Finally, in a fit of anger, the old sadhu hit Shastriji Maharaj with his walking stick. He hit him so hard that the stick broke into two. Shastriji Maharaj quietly picked up the two broken pieces and humbly handed them back to the old sadhu.
This was Shastriji Maharaj’s sadhuta. He could easily have retaliated, but he was not ready to stoop low and give up his principles of tolerance and forgiveness.

Once, Shastriji Maharaj arrived in the town of Anand. Most of the devotees had gone to attend a wedding ceremony, and hence, there was nobody available to host Shastriji Maharaj. Swami thought it pointless to stay in Anand because the devotees were away engaged in their social duties. With this in mind, Shastriji Maharaj switched his plans and decided to go to Sarangpur by train.
He walked to the railway station hoping to find a devotee who would pay for the tickets, but found no one. Then, he and his companion sadhu walked back to town, but found nobody there either. So, they returned to the station. After going back and forth four times, Shastriji Maharaj eventually found a devotee, Govardhanbhai Keshavlal, who paid for the tickets to Botad.
Incidents like these happened many times, but never did Shastriji Maharaj bend the rule of not keeping money with him. This was his sadhuta.

Once Shastriji Maharaj departed from Gondal and arrived in Shrijipura, the Sanstha had thousands of acres of farmland.
Soma Bhagat was in charge of ensuring a steady water supply for the barley crop. Sometimes, fast-flowing water breached the sides of the mud channels, flooding the crops. Soma Bhagat tried to repair one such breach by heaping mud, but the flow washed it away.
Seeing this, Shastriji Maharaj told a puzzled Soma Bhagat, "I will lie down here, and you heap mud on me. This will stop the water from breaking the channel." Soma Bhagat was stunned, unable to imagine doing such a thing to his guru. But Shastriji Maharaj insisted, saying, "What can we not do for the sake of God? Start now."
Reluctantly, Soma Bhagat emptied a couple of shovels of mud on Shastriji Maharaj, and miraculously, the breach held. Shastriji Maharaj lay down wherever there were breaches, and after a few shovels of mud, the channels stood firm.

Shastriji Maharaj was 81-years-old and had arrived in Muli to sanctify the home of Rupsinhbhai Darbar. To reach his house, Swamishri had to walk from the railway station and cross the dry bed of a river.
Nirgundas Swami describes the incident in his own words, "Swamishri had held mine and Yogiji Maharaj's hands (for support). The state of Swamishri's physical condition was such that he could not even walk ten steps." The width of the river Bhogavo bed was large, and at one point, Nirgundas Swami fell with his mattress and bag of letters. Shastriji Maharaj took his mattress in his hand and barely reached the road. There, after enquiring along the way, they arrived at Rupsinhbhai Darbar's house.
Despite his frail health, Shastriji Maharaj travelled to please the devotees.
