WHY Railway tracks have crushed stones โ
โ The crushed stones on railway tracks are called Track Ballast. They are made of special stones that has sharp edges to prevent roll over or slide against one another when the train passed on the railway lines. There are many reasons to use them, let's take a look.
๐ They provide a base support for railway tracks, They don't allow vegetation to grow on railway tracks which could weaken the ground on which the railway lines run, it also prevent water from reaching the track on a regular basis and softening the ground. It doesn't completely seal off water from the railway tracks but it facilitates proper drainage beneath or around the track to ensure that the water doesn't stay on it. They absorbs vibration and reduce the expansion of railway tracks due to heat.

โ Infants have a common and mysterious habit of clenching their hands, either around an object (say, a finger) or just by forming a tight ball with their own fists. As it turns out, this is not coincidental, but does have some scientific basis to it.
๐Itโs actually a bodily reflex known as the Palmar Grasp Reflex which is typically observed in infants. You can elicit the grasp reflex by stroking your finger, or any other object, in a babyโs palms.

WHY are heads covered with black cloth at the time of execution โ
โ No matter how many heinous crimes a person has committed, at the end of the day, that person is also a human being. This explains the reason behind covering the head with a black cloth before hanging. It is covered to protect the dignity of that person. The dignity that nobody sees him when he is in such suffering.
Death is painful no matter what people say, and when someone is hanged, he suffers that pain. So the black cloth protects the person's suffering from being exposed to the world outside. Also, the Body pulling neck can distort the face which can be uncomfortable for the executioner and officers present at the time of execution, to prevent this, the face is covered with black cloth.

โ Not only in films, but in real life also blind people must have been seen wearing black glasses. The healthline report says, the eyes of most blind people can see things to some extent. Black glasses help them to see things more.
๐ Ultraviolet rays emanating from the sun can further damage the eyes of blind people. Thatโs why they are advised to wear black glasses. According to a research, the sunโs rays increase the risk of cataract and macular degeneration. Cataract is the most common cause of loss of vision. Thatโs why common people also use dark glasses to protect their eyes from strong sunlight.

โ Receiving a hug from someone you love can instantly lift your mood.why hugs feel so good, it makes sense to investigate???
๐Hugs release oxytocin. Oxytocin is often called the โlove hormone,โ and itโs released when we cuddle or bond. Oxytocin also decreases anxiety and fear by suppressing the action of the amygdala. Itโs the reason why being hugged feels so good.

โ On the inside of the Grocery store you will rarely ever find a window. There is a lot of psychology involved with shopping.
๐Studies show that if you spend more time in a store you'll spend more money. So these retail stores are always trying to influence you to stay longer and one way to do this by not having windows throughout the store. This prevents you from noticing the sunshifting as time passes causing you to stay longer and spend more.

โ water appears white while going over a waterfall because the water is moving at a high pace and the trapped air in the water creates bubbles. The bubbles are what make the waterfall look white.
โThe light coming from the sun which the humans can see has three primary colours red, green and blue. When light rays confront the water droplets, they scatter the entire visible range. When these three primary colours red, green and blue are mixed in equal proportions, and produce white colour due to scattering of light. Hence, the colour we see after scattering by the water droplets is white.

WHY doesn't the bottom button of a jacket get buttonedโ
โ This etiquette has been observed since the beginning of the XX century. Historians assume that the rule of wearing a jacket appeared thanks to the English King Edward VII (1841-1910), who was obese. He used to leave the bottom button undone so that a tight vest would fit better.
As a sign of respect for his king, the British court, and after him all the inhabitants of England and the British colonies, no longer buttoned the bottom vest. This theory is not taken seriously by everyone, and some trendsetters have challenged it with other versions.
๐ Fashion designer Hardy Amies explained the single-breasted suit was first introduced in 1906 and was later called the "leisure suit".
It became a casual garment, had a wide cut, and the three buttons gave the suit a proper fit. Over time, the jacket replaced traditional riding coats.

๐Chewing gum is hard to digest primarily because of its composition. The base material of chewing gum is usually a combination of synthetic rubber or a type of plastic known as polyisobutylene. These materials are not easily broken down by the digestive enzymes in our stomach and intestines, which are designed to break down natural food substances like proteins, fats, and carbohydrates.
โ Since our bodies do not possess the necessary enzymes to digest the synthetic components of chewing gum, it passes through the digestive system largely intact. The body is unable to extract any nutrients from the gum, and it eventually gets eliminated from the body through bowel movements.

WHY does the Guinness World Records no longer list the world's fattest animals โ
โ The Guinness World Records contains a myriad of incredible entries: the world's tallest man, the world's shortest rivers, the heaviest tumor... However, several things cannot appear in the book.
๐ Like, no more records related to diet and alcohol consumption are accepted: perhaps because the "Book" doesn't want to get sued for doing something stupid and thereby harming itself.
๐ The Guinness World Records once listed the world's fattest fish, and after that, some fish owners started giving their pets too much food in an attempt to break the record - exactly the kind of behavior the Guinness World Records managers would like to avoid.

โ Well, it's all a game of psychology & business. Let's decode this strategy! Technically, the main factor is the wide floors pace that the top floor generally offers. Movie theatres and food courts require a larger span area. According to the science of human behavior, food is something that has a major influence on our minds.
๐This is why food court is found on the top floor always, becauseif you'll get distracted by the food on the ground floor itself, why would you bother to go further to shops & stores? Here's another interesting logic The customers are usually fresh & focused while entering the mall and get tired by the time they reach the top floor.๐This is why perfume stores are strategically placed on the ground floor so that the fragrance makes you want to enter the stores and probably buy something too!

โ As you reach back to pull your chair and sit up straight, your elbow smashes into the chairโs arm, hitting directly on the โsweet spot.โ Waves of pain, what people often describe as an โelectric shock,โ.
๐The funny โboneโ is actually a long vine of a nerve called the ulnar nerve. The ulnar nerve is a long nerve that extends from the neck to the pinkie finger. It is unprotected in the cubital tunnel, which is the space between the upper arm and forearm. When you hit your funny bone against something, the unprotected nerve is pressed against the bone. The squeezed or irritated ulnar nerve spouts the waves of pain, emitting the โelectric shock.โ The waves terrorize the regions innervated by the nerve: the forearm, the pinkie, and half of the ring finger.

โ The reason injuries hurt more in cold weather is because the cold causes the body to try to conserve heat by sending more blood to the organs in the center of our body, which causes the blood vessels in other areas to constrict. This reduced blood flow leads to stiffness, which can cause discomfort and pain.
๐Additionally, cold weather can cause the barometric pressure to drop, which can lead to swelling in inflamed tissues and additional pain. To combat this, it is important to keep the head, hands, and feet warm, dress warmly, and exercise.

โ The main reason why fridges are good at keeping food fresh is because they maintain a cold environment. Bacteria and other microorganisms commonly prefer life at 37ยฐC. The average temperature inside a fridge, however, is 4ยฐC. This is too cold for a bacterium to function effectively. Thus, at such low temperatures, their growth rate significantly lowers.

WHY do oil rigs burnโ
โ Along with the oil, combustible gas, a mixture of volatile hydrocarbons dissolved into the oil at depth under high pressure, flows out of the wells.
๐ Associated gas can be gathered and processed, though since it's typically scarce, not always cost-effective.
Releasing it into the atmosphere in its pure form is not healthy for environmental and safety reasons. Therefore, the gas is burned in flares.
