The unprecedented, widespread #internet shutdown in #Iran has temporarily pushed the development of our nascent circumvention tool off its original roadmap. For now, instead of adding planned features, the entire team’s focus is being devoted to creating a minimal access path for around 150,000 #Defyx users.

According to #NetBlocks reports, Iran has been under an internet blackout for two weeks, and a large number of our users in the country are facing serious difficulties accessing the free internet.
During this period, our focus has been on closely analyzing network conditions, identifying bottlenecks and existing gaps, and designing solutions across short-, mid-, and long-term timeframes.
The outcome of our short-term plan is the release of a new update, in which we have worked on several key areas.
In this version, a new option called #DeepScan has been added to the Preferences section, allowing configurations to be analyzed more deeply and accurately, resulting in more stable and reliable connections. We have also added more premium servers to #Defyx, although it remains unclear how well these servers will withstand the current level of network pressure.
In addition, the API call model has been improved to be more resilient, and part of the configuration evaluation process can now be performed offline.
Despite the fact that even downloading the new version file is difficult—and at times nearly impossible—for users inside Iran, we have not stopped our efforts. We will continue to focus on developing practical and effective solutions for future updates.

We are doing our utmost to address part of the needs of our users in #Iran, who are facing anti-government protests and severe internet restrictions, through frequent and closely timed updates.
Today, we released another update for Android, iOS, and Windows and submitted it to the app stores. At the moment, this update is available via Google Play and GitHub, but its release on the Microsoft Store and the Apple App Store depends on review and approval by their respective teams, which is usually time-consuming. Due to the Christmas holidays, the review process is slower than usual.
Nevertheless, given the current circumstances, the Windows version is available through our GitHub page, where you can download and use it directly.

Many of you have been asking what’s next.
In short: we’re actively working on the Linux version. We’re strengthening the DXcore engine to make it more resilient under severe network limitations. Features like split tunneling, insights, location selection, proxy sharing, and more are also on our roadmap and will be rolled out gradually.
We haven’t forgotten about our visually impaired and blind users either. Improving accessibility is another area we’ll be focusing on.
