📍 Where is it kept? The State Museum of Arts of the Republic of Karakalpakstan named after I. V. Savitsky.

❓ What does the name mean? 👗 Kok Koylek translates from Karakalpak as "Blue Dress."

Facts about the dress: 🔹 The attire is connected to the ancient, nomadic, and warrior tribes of the Massagetae, who lived along the shores of the Aral Sea.

🔹 This ritual wedding dress is adorned with exquisite embroidery and symbolizes a magical sign of future life.

One of the many legends dedicated to flamingos tells how a flamingo took pity on people dying of hunger during a bad year and helped them. The flamingo fed the unfortunate people pieces of meat that it pecked out of its body. The blood flowing from the wounds fell on the feathers and colored them pink.

Discover Pil-Kala: A Journey Through Time
Nestled in the northern part of Beruni city lies the ancient settlement of Pil-Kala, a historical gem dating back to the 4th–2nd centuries BCE and the 7th–8th centuries CE. This fortified site is characterized by its distinctive semi-oval shooting towers that line its robust walls.
Archaeologists have uncovered remarkable artifacts here, including ceramics from the Afrighid dynasty. In one of the southwestern towers, an intriguing burial was discovered, with the deceased positioned facing northwest. Nearby, three diamond-shaped arrowheads from the 13th–14th centuries were found, adding another layer to Pil-Kala's rich history.
Interestingly, Pil-Kala was also known as "Fir-Kala," a name believed to be derived from the founders of the Firg dynasty. Over time, linguistic changes in the Turkic language transformed "f" to "p" and "r" to "l," resulting in the name we use today.

Unveiling the Secrets of Davletgerey: Forgotten Ancient Trading Post
The Kurgancha archaeological complex, or Davletgerey, is a treasure for history and adventure lovers! Located 105 km from Muynak under the Ustyurt Plateau, this ancient site (12th - early 13th centuries) features a settlement, tower, pottery kiln, and more.
What's Special?
Davletgerey was a trading post where merchants exchanged goods with northern nomads, frequently mentioned in 19th-century sources. The rectangular site, oriented to the cardinal points, has remnants of rooms. Archaeologists found blue glass beads and shells with stringing holes – authentic artifacts of the time!
