AASTU Hosted 11th Science and Engineering Fair, May 16, 2026.
Addis Ababa Science and Technology University successfully held its 11th Science and Engineering Fair under the theme “Inculcating Science and Engineering Culture and Promoting Innovation.” The annual event showcased the creativity and innovation of students from AASTU’s STEM Center, highlighting their project-based learning and problem-solving skills. This year’s competition featured seven student-led projects that addressed pressing national challenges in areas such as agriculture, health sector, transportation, and waste management. These projects were the outcomes of hands-on training and mentorship provided by the STEM Center. The students not only identified real-world problems but also developed practical solutions, demonstrating the effectiveness of STEM education in nurturing future innovators.

Capacity-Building Training on Smart Transport Technologies Successfully Concludes

Addis Ababa Science and Technology University has successfully completed a two-week capacity-building training focused on implementing advanced transport technologies for efficient urban mobility.
The training was organized by the HPC and Big Data Analytics Center of Excellence and delivered to experts drawn from different sectoral units of the Addis Ababa City Administration Transport Bureau. It was conducted from March 23 to April 4, 2026.
The program aimed to strengthen the trainees’ skills in key areas, including Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), data science and big data analytics, office machine maintenance, and advanced networking such as router and switch configuration.

AASTU and Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority (ECTA) have reached a collaboration agreement April1, 2026.
Addis Ababa Science and Technology University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority (ECTA), marking a significant step toward strengthening collaboration in the coffee, tea, and spices sectors.
Through research, innovation, and capacity building, the MoU establishes a comprehensive framework for cooperation between AASTU and ECTA. The partnership aims to enhance productivity, improve quality standards, and promote technological advancement across the coffee, tea, and spices industries in Ethiopia.
This collaboration is expected to contribute significantly to the modernization and global competitiveness of Ethiopia’s coffee, tea, and spices industries.

We are organizing an Intellectual Property Rights Training on April 2 and 3 (Thursday and Friday) at the Center of Excellence Building (the same place where the last presentation was held).

AASTU and TU Dresden Launch Erasmus+ Learning Mobility Project

Addis Ababa Science and Technology University (AASTU), in collaboration with Technical University of Dresden (TUD), has successfully held a kickoff meeting for a newly secured Erasmus+ Learning Mobility Project. The meeting brought together senior officials and academic staff from both institutions, marking an important milestone in strengthening international academic cooperation.
The Erasmus+ project was secured through a joint effort of AASTU’s Sustainable Energy Center of Excellence, the Office of the Vice President for Research and Technology Transfer (VPRTT), and TU Dresden.
