Your government almost did this. They didn't stop because of conscience. They stopped because they got frightened by the US-Iran war.

😽 Brutal Truth Many of Us Won’t Like This

Muslims today act like cats are part of Islam, but when a human starves, they scroll past like nothing happened.

They’ll feed a cat, but ignore a poor family next door. They’ll build shelters for cats, but not care if an orphan sleeps hungry.

There’s no authentic hadith that says our Prophet ﷺ had a cat.
It’s a story people made up to feel cute and modern — not Islamic.

Rasulullah ﷺ showed mercy to animals, yes, but he never replaced human compassion with animal obsession.

If your kindness ends at cats but not at people, then your mercy is just for show, not for Allah.
