🌅 Word for Today
Beloved, today the Lord invites us to examine what shapes our understanding.
In the First Reading, Saint James reminds us that temptation does not come from God. Rather, it arises when we allow disordered desires to take root in our hearts. God, however, is the giver of every good and perfect gift. He is constant and faithful, never changing like shifting shadows. When we anchor ourselves in Him, we receive life, not confusion.
The Psalm reassures us that the Lord disciplines those He loves. Even when we stumble, His mercy upholds us. In moments of anxiety, His consolation brings peace. A heart that trusts God will not collapse under pressure.
In the Gospel, Jesus warns His disciples about the “leaven” of the Pharisees and of Herod. They misunderstand, thinking He speaks about bread. Yet Christ is pointing to something deeper, the subtle influence of unbelief and hypocrisy. Spiritual blindness can persist even among those who walk closely with Him.
Beloved, God wants to open your spiritual eyes. Do not let doubt, fear, or worldly thinking cloud your vision. Reflect on the ways He has already provided for you. The same Lord who multiplied the loaves is present in your journey today.
