I have always used truncate for removing the content of the file but aparently i could have done this absolute simplest command ever

> filename.txt
Good to know simple and time effective

like writing the empty to filename.txt

if you remember doing things like python main.py > output.txt this is the same thing but instead writing empty

Building developer tools is harder than it looks.

Most database tools feel heavy, outdated, or cluttered. When you just want to understand your database schema quickly, they often slow you down instead of helping.

So I decided to build something different: Addis Atlas.

Honestly, this project started because I needed a tool like this myself. I was looking for database schema visualization tools, but many of them were either too expensive or didn’t feel modern enough for everyday developer workflows.

While researching, I came across ChartDB and the story of its founder on the Starter Story YouTube channel. Seeing how he built a tool developers love was really inspiring. It made me think: why not try building something similar, but focused on a clean and simple experience?

That’s how Addis Atlas was born.

Addis Atlas is a modern Schema Studio designed for developers who want to:

• Instantly visualize their database schema
• Clearly explore relationships between tables
• Quickly import and understand existing databases
• Work comfortably in both light and dark mode
• Enjoy a clean, modern developer experience

The goal is simple:

Database diagramming should feel effortless.

No friction.
No clutter.
Just a fast and beautiful interface for understanding your data.

I’m continuously improving the designer and import tools to make schema exploration more powerful and intuitive.
