Today, the world remembers the heroic legacy of Malcolm X on the 101st anniversary of his birth. Although his life was cut short by an assassin’s bullet in 1965, his life and ideas continue to shape generation after generation of freedom fighters. His uncompromising commitment to the cause of Black liberation remains a model in the struggle to overthrow the system of white supremacy that continues today.

Malcolm X was a firm anti-imperialist and anti-capitalist. He understood that the ruling class that so brutally exploits people here in the United States also operated a global empire to loot the wealth of the whole world. His words are as insightful today as they were 60 years ago.

This May, the Party for Socialism and Liberation participated in the Pan-Africanism Summit Against Imperialism (PASAI) in Nairobi, Kenya as part of the International People's Assembly alongside progressive movements across Africa and the world.

The PASAI summit countered France’s “Africa Forward” summit, also held in Nairobi — the first time a France-Africa summit has been hosted outside of a Francophone country. French President, Emmanuel Macron and over 30 African heads of states and representatives attended the imperialist summit hosted by Kenyan President William Ruto.

While our taxpayer-funded disaster response systems and the mainstream media have failed to respond to the devastation left by wildfires in Brantley County, Georgia, members from the Party for Socialism and Liberation have stepped up to support local residents in South Georgia clean up their properties and begin the process of rebuilding their homes.

Disaster after disaster, working class communities are left to fend for themselves. Instead of prioritizing people’s needs in the wake of these fires, our government has refused to declare a major disaster and left hundreds of people displaced or without shelter for weeks.

We spoke with Brantley County residents who are demanding our leaders take their situation seriously and release the relief aid necessary to rebuild their community with dignity and on their own terms. Full federal relief now — with no strings attached!

After rejecting an Iranian proposal for a peace agreement to end the war, Trump is now talking about a major new naval operation in the Strait of Hormuz. Every day, Trump or a member of his administration threatens renewed war crimes.

The people of this country are sick of war, and the economic chaos it causes. Gas prices are at record highs, and a return to the war will send inflation soaring even further. Thousands have already been killed in this war, and there’s no doubt that thousands more could die with a re-escalation. Greg Abbott continues to escalate his racist war against immigrant communities by cracking down on all cities who refuse to comply with his demands. Just last month, Abbott threatened to withhold $200 million in funding from Austin, Dallas and Houston for passing progressive, pro-immigrant policies. The reality is that these policies were won as a result of widespread pressure from below – the people of Texas say immigrants are welcome here, and we refuse to bow down to Abbott!

Texas is home to roughly 5 million immigrants – almost 20% of our entire population. And at the same time, our state leads the nation in ICE detentions. Immigrants make Texas run, and forcing our families and neighbors to live in fear of deportation is unacceptable.

STRIKE on May 1 to demand money for people's needs, not the US war machine.

Pete Hegseth told Congress yesterday that the Pentagon spent $25 billion of our tax money so far on Trump’s illegal war of aggression against Iran – and that’s just the spending that they’ll admit to.

Rather than build schools in our communities, the administration bombs schools in Iran and strangles the Cuban people with a cruel blockade.

Trump doesn’t care about the hardships that working families are going through. All he cares about is pursuing his sick fantasy of “running” the entire world, no matter how much death and destruction he causes in the process.

The people of this country do not want another war. Trump ran on the promise of being a “peace president”, but he has been on a killing spree around the globe ever since he was elected.

On May Day, let’s take a stand in the true, internationalist spirit of the day – working people of the world will unite against war!

🇨🇺The U. S. Senate has just failed to pass a resolution that would block Trump from going to war against Cuba. Trump has threatened yet another illegal war of aggression publicly numerous times – like on March 27 when he told a conference in Miami, "Cuba is next, by the way.”

The people of this country do not want another war that extends Trump's global killing spree. The only people who stand to benefit from this are the millionaires and billionaires who own the weapons manufacturers and oil corporations – or in the case of Cuba, the capitalists who have been waiting for decades to “reclaim” the public property that has been used for the benefit of the people since the revolution in 1959.

🇭🇹TODAY: Unions, faith groups, and community organizations are rallying to defeat Trump’s attacks on TPS holders as the Supreme Court hears arguments on Temporary Protected Status.

Over 1 million TPS holders are again thrown into legal limbo and facing imminent mass ICE terror. The mass outrage over the termination order has galvanized people across the entire country to stand with Haitians – now, we must continue the fight to ensure permanent legal status for all Haitian immigrants.

Political reforms and legal victories only come because the people fight for them, and they can always be taken away if we let up our pressure.

Now is the moment for not just Haitians, but all workers to mobilize against ICE. We can take inspiration from how the people of Minnesota shut it down to defend Somalis.

Working people continue to bear the burden of Trump's illegal war of aggression against Iran. Gas prices hit a record high today, and are set to keep going up and up as the war drags on.

Even though the Pentagon war machine has managed to kill thousands of innocent people, it has not defeated Iran. In fact, they have failed so spectacularly that it is now the U. S. Navy, not Iran, that is blocking the vital Strait of Hormuz.

The U. S. government should simply stop attacking Iran, withdraw the troops from the Middle East, and use the massive amount of money wasted on the Pentagon war machine to meet people’s needs instead.

Since the final months of 2025, at least 30 U. S. cities have canceled their contracts with Flock, and many more have paused Flock services in response to public concern.

Activists around the country are pushing for full cancellation of the contracts and to prevent Flock’s replacement with a different brand of surveillance technology.
