We're simplifying how usernames work and moving to a cleaner format.

✨ Why we're doing this:
This makes usernames easier to remember, faster to type, and compatible across all platforms and integrations.

⚙️ How the mapping works:
• All usernames are standardized to lowercase and underscores (_) only.

• If multiple people have the same username, we'll add numbers to make them unique (alex, alex_1, alex_2). The order is determined automatically by our system.

For example:
Superhero → superhero
superhero → superhero1
SUPERHERO → superhero2
Super.hero → superhero3

🔒 What happens to your old username:
Don't worry! Your old username is saved as a "legacy name" forever. You can still log in with it, especially if you're returning after a break. Your new username is what displays to others now.

✅ New users will get an auto-generated username/password sent with their signup email.
✅We're also working on a name reservation system for premium spatial names.
