The USS Gerald R. Ford, which had been deployed in US-Israeli 'operations' against Iran, docked in Split on the Adriatic coast on Saturday for repairs and maintenance.
The Ford, the worldβs largest aircraft carrier, had been operating in the Red Sea in support of the war in West Asia when a fire broke out in its main laundry room on 12 March, injuring three sailors.
At the time, a US official said nearly 200 sailors were also treated for smoke inhalation, and the fire, which took hours to contain, affected around 100 sleeping berths.
