EXCITING NEW VOTING OPTIONS COMING IN NOVEMBER
Las Vegas, Nevada – In a major announcement that promises to revolutionize American democracy, the producers of the long-running hit television show American Idol revealed today a bold new system for casting ballots in the 2026 midterms and future elections: voting by text message.
Fremantle and 19 Entertainment, the companies behind American Idol, jointly announced the rollout of “America Votes,” a cutting-edge platform that allows voters to simply text their choice to a dedicated phone number assigned to each candidate.
“The time of voting in person is over,” declared Fremantle executive Swarly Smith. “It is inconvenient and time-consuming. The time of voting by mail is over as well — it’s slow and puts an unnecessary strain on our already failing postal system.”
Smith continued: “Today we herald the culmination of voting technology… vote by text.”
According to documents released by the companies, participating states will conduct elections in much the same way American Idol tallies viewer votes for its contestants. Each candidate will be assigned a unique phone number, and eligible voters will have a two-week window to text their selection from their mobile devices.
“It’s completely safe and effective,” said Bobbo Newhouse, 19 Entertainment’s new Director of Election Operations. “We have decades of experience perfecting this system with American Idol. And to keep things fair, we limit each phone to just 10 votes per election.”
Arizona has already signed on as an early adopter. Governor Katie Hobbs praised the initiative during a press briefing, calling it “exciting” and confirming her state will switch to the Vote by Text system for November’s elections.
“We’re going to get Ryan Seacrest to host the Election Night Reporting show,” Hobbs added with enthusiasm.
The vote totals will be independently audited and verified by the prestigious firm Escobar and Sons, according to released documents.
When asked whether the system might disenfranchise citizens without cell phones, Governor Hobbs dismissed the concern with a laugh. “Oh my no — we are allocating $200 million to provide free cell phones to phone-poor demographics, like immigrants and prison inmates.”
Several other battleground states, including Michigan, North Carolina, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Nevada, and Colorado, are reportedly in discussions to adopt the service as well.
“It’s a game changer,” Smith said. “2026 will be the most secure election in American history.” When asked if he is concerned about possible court challenges, he dismissed them. “The constitution allows states to conduct their elections in any damn-fool way they like. Plus, the last pallets of cash should be arriving at John Robert’s house today. We’re not too concerned.”
