Moon Illusion -- Moon not round?

— Have you ever been shocked by a rising gigantic orange moon that you mistook for the sun? 🌞Do you know that there are even purple moons?

These changes in the Moon's shape and color are known as the Moon illusion. As moonlight travels through different layers of the Earth’s atmosphere 🌏 at an angle, it passes through mediums with varying densities.

The light bends or refracts as it enters each new layer, following the path of least time. When the Moon is near the horizon, Earth's atmosphere acts as a lens🔍 that refracts the moonlight.

The Moon's color changes because red and orange light are less scattered by the atmosphere than blue light with a shorter wavelength and higher frequency.💡🚦

Because the top of the Moon forms a wider angle with the horizon than the bottom, the upper part experiences less refraction than the lower part. This difference in refraction distorts the Moon's shape, giving it an egg-like appearance rather than a perfect ellipse being equally squashed on either side.

I have an interesting question for you guys.

Imagine you are somewhere at a party in 2024. You are having fun, and all of a sudden a girl comes and gives you an item, let's say a watch (it does not matter what it is). Then she requested you to bring it back in 2010. You get confused as she is asking to bring it to the past. But anyway you do all you can to go back in time (I don't know why you would do that or how I mean a total stranger comes and asks for an impossible task. Would you do it? Personally, NO) and somehow you manage to go back to 2010 and give the watch to her.

Now the question is, whose watch is it❔ Yours or her❓

Higgs Boson - Mass

Particle Accelerator - Full of Energy🔥

Physics is after all an experimental science. No theory, however appealing it is, can stand without the support of experiments. ⚛️ To prove many hypotheses addressed in the standard model of particles, scientists invest time in particle accelerators.

As its name suggests, a particle accelerator functions by accelerating a particle to an extremely high speed, sometimes close to the speed of light. As a beam of particles becomes highly energetic due to their increases in velocity, some of the energy will be transformed into new particles, which occasionally exist only for 10^-8 seconds before decaying into lighter particles. In this manner, scientists can discover new fundamental particles.

To accelerate the charged particles, such as protons and electrons, scientists use electric fields, which create alternating radiofrequency cavities to boost the particles. 🔥It is common to read the notion that while gravity works at infinite distances, nuclear forces do not. In fact, all forces function at an infinite range from a mathematical point of view, only that the strength of atomic forces drops exponentially outside of a 1 femtometer (10⁻¹⁵ meters) range, gravity became dominant.
