Dear friends,
After a brief summer break, we’re back at our beloved Teehaus.
This time, we’re shining the spotlight on something close to our hearts: Hamburg’s record stores and the amazing people behind the counters. Sure, in the age of YouTube & Insta digging, Discogs, and online shops, the good old record store may not always be front and center anymore. But anyone who thinks they’ve lost their relevance is missing the point. These shops are still scene hubs, tastemakers, and cultural anchors. For generations, countless DJs, producers and new music movements have been born out of staff recommendations and dusty bins and dollar crates. And let’s be honest — every vinyl head knows the thrill: discovering a city through its record shops. More often than not, you find yourself in neighborhoods you’d never stumble upon as a “regular” tourist. You get tips for parties, restaurant recommendations, and sometimes even meet people who turn into friends. Each shop has its own vibe, its stories, its people. That’s exactly the spirit we want to bring to the Teehaus with this session. Our guest selectors are the ones who create those worlds day in and day out — true music lovers who’ve stuck it out despite the challenges of running a record store these days. In our eyes, they’re the city’s “quiet" tastemakers. Each guest brings their own flavor from Deep Soul, Outernational Grooves, Outsider Pop to AOR to Wrong-Speeder Techno, a sound that reflects the unique soul of their beautiful shops.
