A Testimony
After work at my first 5-hour shift of the day I usually go home, splash water on my face and call my friend Jim while going out for a mile-long walk (Jim often joins me by walking in his own neighborhood while we chat.)
Today he answered, βWell, sorry buddy but Iβm in the car driving to the doctor to get his approval and signature on a new CPAP.β
After we chatted about the CPAP for awhile, he added, βIβm also going to have him look at my foot; I injured it over a year ago while chasing geese away from my condo and itβs still giving me trouble.β
Something popped into my mind.
βJim, Iβve been listening to a lot of Praying Medic videos on healing lately so Iβd like to try something.β
βOk.β
βI know this is going to sound out of the blue but how do you feel about the geese?β
Pause.
βI HATE THEM.β
(A lot of descriptions ensued.)
βJim, Iβd like to try something. Iβd like you to go back to some time when you interacted with the geese, maybe even the time when you hurt your foot chasing themβ¦what do you feel?β
βIrritation and angerβ (Jim told me awhile back that heβs read the Emotional Healing In 3 Easy Steps book I gave him, so he might have had an inkling as to what would come next.)
βJim, repeat after me: Lord Jesus, I ask that you take the irritation and anger from meβ¦(he repeated verbatim)β¦Lord Jesus, I ask that you heal the wounds in my soulβ¦(again verbatim)β¦Lord Jesus, I ask that you give me your peaceβ¦(again)β¦Lord Jesus, I receive your healingβ¦(again)β¦β
Then I asked him how far he was from the doctorβs office (to get his mind off of what had just happened).
βAbout two minutes.β
βOkay, Iβd like you to go back to that time when you were dealing with the geeseβ¦what do you feel?
Pause.
βWhat do you feel?β
βA kind of dullnessβ¦Nothing.β
βThatβs it! Thatβs it!! Now for the next part. Repeat after me: Lord Jesus, I forgive the geese.β
βLord Jesus, I dunnoβ¦I ask you to help me forgive the geese as best I canβ¦I dunno if I can do it but I ask you to help me forgive them if I can.β
βI didnβt ask you to ask for help. How do you feel about the geese now?β
βI feel the irritation coming back.β
βOkay, letβs do it again. Jesus, I ask you toβ¦β We repeated the entire first part. Then I added, βJesus, I forgive the geese.β
Jim balked.
βJust say it,β I urged him.
He said it.
Then I asked him, βNowβ¦how does your foot feel?β
βWellβ¦Iβm moving it around and it feels fine!β
We talked a bit more as he got out of his car and walked into the doctorβs office. He told me that the devil was trying to tell him it was psychosomatic and that the pain would come back; I replied that it didnβt matter whether it was psychosomatic or if something physical was wrong with his foot, itβs healed either wayβand if things came up again, he now knows what to do!
Hallelujah! God Bless! β€οΈ π
