Behind the scenes of our new Summer Verde Pesto Butter! 🌿🧄🧈 When R&D-ing our new Pesto Butter, we tried many different types of pre-made pesto, but just couldn’t find one that brought that bold herbaceous allure we were looking for! So naturally, we decided to make our own pesto 👏 from 👏 scratch! 👏

We experimented with over 10 different types of pesto recipes, with some variations even including laksa leaf instead of basil, or parmigiano instead of pecorino, or walnuts instead of pine nuts! 🫢🤯 (Can you spot them all in the pics above? 👀)

Eventually we found the one! ❤️ And now, we make that pesto lovingly from scratch using fresh basil leaves, toasted pine nuts and nutty pecorino, before infusing it into cultured butter for a nutty, earthy herby butter that’s perfect on sandwiches 🥪, over steaks 🥩 or served simply with sourdough or crackers! 🇮🇹😎☀️

Meet the Butter Days Experimental Butter Series, a collection of small-batch, one-time-only butter flavours that are wistfully dubbed “the ones that got away” in our test kitchen. 🧈

These are the archived butter flavours that the Butter Days team had created, found extremely delicious and unique, but ultimately was forced to shelve because they might have required hard-to-source ingredients or processes that were a tad too unhinged to be scaled to full production. 🥺

Still, we always felt they deserved a moment! ✨ So this series is our way of sharing these personal, playful experiments with fellow butter lovers - in small batches, as they were first imagined.

Our first experimental flavour drop will be announced tomorrow. We can’t wait for you to taste it! ❤️🧈
