Postdoctoral Fellow in RNA-based Antibiotics
Research Area:
The research will be conducted within the field of RNA-based antibiotics, specifically focusing on antisense peptide nucleic acids (PNAs) and their interaction with nucleic acids.
Location:
The position is based at the Helmholtz Institute for RNA-based Infection Research (HIRI) in Würzburg, Germany. The successful candidate will also need to travel regularly between Würzburg, Germany, and Strasbourg, France.
Eligibility/Qualification:
• Successfully completed university or master’s degree in natural sciences.
• PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field of biosciences.
• Experience in analyzing RNA structures or working with microbial cultures is desirable.
• Interest in data science is advantageous.
• Very good communication skills with a strong command of English.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an international environment.
• Enthusiastic about a dynamic working environment with high scientific standards.
• Willingness to travel regularly between France and Germany.
• Strong publication record appropriate to career stage.
Job Description:
• Responsible for the content of research tasks.
• Design and execution of experiments.
• Preparation and publication of scientific papers.
• Presentation of research findings at national and international conferences.
• Supervision of research assistants, doctoral candidates, and students.
