📰 New Update: Department of Posts Issues Corrigendum on Special Casual Leave
New Delhi, April 2026: The Government of India’s Department of Posts has issued a corrigendum regarding the grant of Special Casual Leave. The correction clarifies that the earlier communication should refer to the non-grant of Special Casual Leave to AIGDSU office bearers, instead of the previously stated grant to federal executive members and general secretaries of BPEF-affiliated unions.
The department confirmed that all other contents of the original letter remain unchanged, and necessary action has been advised to all postal circles as per existing rules.

*📢 GDS Salary Update (8th Pay Commission Expectation)*
Based on the previous revision (2016 → 2018) and current discussions:
👉 Last time, salary increased by around 2.3× – 2.6×
👉 If the same trend continues, a similar increase can be expected
💰 Estimated Salary Range:
🔸ABPM : around ₹22K–₹28K
🔸 BPM: around ₹28K – ₹35K
⚠️ Important Points:
- Deductions (PLI, GIS, taxes, etc.) are different for each person
- Take-home salary will vary based on individual deductions
- Full 3.83 fitment factor may not apply to GDS
- Final decision depends on government approval

8th Pay Commission Update: Proposed 1.89x Fitment Factor Could Raise Basic Pay to ₹33,984!
The discussion around the 8th Pay Commission has intensified after reports suggested a possible 1.89x fitment factor, which could significantly revise the salary structure of central government employees once implemented. While no official notification has been released yet, the projection has already triggered widespread interest among employees and financial analysts.
According to the estimate, the fitment factor is a multiplier used to convert the existing basic pay into a revised structure. If the proposed 1.89x factor is applied, an employee with a current basic pay of around ₹18,000 could see it increase to approximately ₹33,984, marking a substantial jump in base salary.
This revision, however, would not be limited to basic pay alone. Once finalized, it would also impact allowances such as Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA), and pension calculations, making the overall financial impact significantly broader.
Experts note that these figures are still early-stage projections based on media reports and assumptions, and the final decision will depend on the recommendations of the Pay Commission and approval from the Government of India. Historically, the fitment factor has varied across commissions, and the final number may differ from current speculation.
The 8th Pay Commission, once formally constituted and implemented, is expected to bring structural changes in salary slabs, pension frameworks, and overall compensation policies for millions of government employees and pensioners across the country.
केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने केंद्र सरकार के कर्मचारियों और पेंशनभोगियों के लिए महंगाई भत्ता (DA) और महंगाई राहत (DR) में 2% की बढ़ोतरी को मंजूरी दे दी है, जो 01.01.2026 से प्रभावी होगी।
इस फैसले के साथ कुल DA/DR अब 60% तक पहुंच गया है।

*₹20,000 की रिश्वत मामले में डाक विभाग के अधीक्षक गिरफ्तार*
नई दिल्ली, 18 अप्रैल: केंद्रीय अन्वेषण ब्यूरो (CBI) ने डाक विभाग के अधीक्षक (AMPC, महिपालपुर, नई दिल्ली) को रिश्वत मामले में गिरफ्तार किया है।
CBI के अनुसार, आरोपी अधिकारी को शिकायतकर्ताओं से ₹20,000 की रिश्वत मांगने के आरोप में पकड़ा गया। बताया गया कि उसने शाखा स्थानांतरण रोकने और अवकाश स्वीकृत करने के बदले रिश्वत की मांग की थी।
बातचीत के बाद आरोपी ₹20,000 में से ₹10,000 की पहली किस्त लेने पर सहमत हुआ। CBI ने 17 अप्रैल 2026 को ट्रैप लगाकर आरोपी को ₹10,000 रिश्वत लेते हुए रंगे हाथ गिरफ्तार कर लिया।
मामले में आगे की जांच जारी है।
