📣 Does the Iranian community need a lobby? If yes, how?
In recent discussions, we talked about the concept of a “lobby”—the ability of a community to make its voice heard by decision-makers and create positive impact.
But an important question arises:
Given challenges like lack of trust, individualism, or personal concerns, can Iranians build such a structure?
🔹 Short answer: Yes—not only can we, but we need it.
The reality is that issues such as:
* Avoiding direct conversations and judging behind others’ backs
* Lack of teamwork experience
* Limited trust
* Caution in group activities
have made collaboration seem more difficult.
But these are not inherent traits—they are learned behaviors that can change.
At the same time, in smaller circles like family and friendships, we have shown a strong ability to support one another.
If this strength is organized properly, it can become a healthy and effective lobby.
---
### ✅ What should this kind of lobby look like?
🔸 Non-political and service-oriented
Focusing on cultural, social, educational, health, and humanitarian activities—without entering political conflicts.
🔸 Transparent and trustworthy
Clear reporting, defined roles, and honesty in all activities.
🔸 Safe space for dialogue
Replacing silence and judgment with respectful and direct communication.
🔸 Starting small
Trust is built in small groups and grows over time.
🔸 Connected to the broader community
Real impact comes from building relationships with other organizations and institutions.

### 🌱 Important note
Being “non-political” means:
👉 Serving people without engaging in political conflicts
while still being able to raise community needs and create impact.
