US inflation came in hotter than expected again:

📊 CPI YoY: 3.8% vs 3.7% expected
📊 Core CPI YoY: 2.8% vs 2.7% expected
📊 Core CPI MoM: 0.4% vs 0.3% expected

The important part:
Inflation is no longer just an oil story.

Core inflation accelerated again, increasing fears of:
• higher-for-longer rates
• stronger USD
• pressure on equities

Gold initially moved higher as markets started pricing a more stagflationary environment.

Oil prices surged on Thursday to their highest levels since the US-Iran war began amid reports that the US was considering military action against Iran to break a deadlock in peace talks.

Brent crude, the international benchmark, rose 4.5 per cent to $123.30 a barrel in Asia — the highest level since the US and Israel launched their war against Iran in late February — following a 6.1 per cent gain on Wednesday.

Here’s a little help for Todays FOMC press conference:

It’s an analysis snippet which was sent to the AlphaFX members.

Good evening cabróns,

Yields are rising, oil prices are climbing higher.

Thins are not looking good. This is now a serious global inflationary issue.

It's a similar script like back in the In the late 70s (post-1979 Oil Crisis), oil spiked after Iran supply disruptions.

👉 Today: Middle East tensions / supply risks are pushing oil higher again
👉 Market reaction is the same: inflation fears repriced upward

there are of course many differences between now and then.
❌ Labour unions are not as strong as they were, which limits sticky wages.
✅ AI boosts efficiency
etc etc...
🏦 Central Banks are ahead of the curve compared to the 70s so CB credibility is stronger. Market participants now that rates will stay higher for longer.
