The full story about a startup I co-founded this Fall:

1. We are an AI-native B2B company… we take outdated government software systems (currently in Kazakhstan only) and rebuild them — for free. Our solutions cost the government absolutely nothing. Zero budget.

2. This model is best illustrated by one of our latest feats: the digitalization of a medical residency grant allocation system (processes $29M annually) into a single workflow convenient for everyone involved — the Ministry of Healthcare, universities, and the students themselves.

Right now, medical students must submit physical documents to universities, often requiring in-person presence and offering little flexibility. Even worse, many government scholarships are just never used even when there are students left with none. With our system, the entire process becomes digital and more transparent.

We automatically allocate grants by region, university, and specialty — a process that normally takes 1.5 months of manual work every year — and complete it in five minutes.

And one more thing: we effectively eliminate corruption at the admissions level.

Medical residency isn’t our only project. But the idea behind all of them is the same: our primary goal is to acquire an infrastructure position first, and only then think about monetization. Our bet is speed, better access, and superior user experience.

3. We raised $150,000 with 2M cap in pre-seed funding from a venture fund (though in the U. S. it would probably be considered an angel investor).

In the past two months alone, we have:
• pitched to two ministers,
• reached agreements with some of the best universities in Kazakhstan, and
• saved the government roughly $400K in development costs, which competitors would have charged to build similar systems.

The medical residency project isn’t yet in use: even if you offer a solution to the government for free, there are still several stages that you need to go through to prove yourself as a reliable system. We hope that we will go through all the checks perfectly.

I got rejected after my final interview at Meta.

I grinded 100 leetcode problems in one week only to get a question that wasn’t even Meta-tagged. Still, I solved the first one fully and had the right concept for the second.

As much as it sucks, I’m genuinely grateful I even had the chance to interview. And I’m also really grateful to Komron ( https://t.me/komron_stuff). He helped me like a true brother, even though we’ve never met.

The grind continues — maybe without the shiny “incoming @ Meta” linkedin bio for now — but it continues regardless.

It’s interesting how like just a decade ago the bad guys were the big oil, pharma, and Wall Street, while tech was enjoying a reputation of a somewhat ethical field (in comparison). I wonder what was the reason for the cultural shift. Was it the intentional addictiveness of social media? Privacy? Resource exploitation? AI slops? Visibility?

I think tech certainly does have an issue with ethical and moral values. It’s like if you are moving fast, you don’t necessarily act for the greater good (and in fact it’s discouraged - think about how everyone hates the EU for staggering innovation for the sake of safety).

But at the same time, I would 100% get spied on by Palantis’s immigration system rather than deal with ANY insurance company. Or to see a retirement house cutting down costs on the toilet paper because some douchebad is forcing a strategic bankruptcy to cash out.
