✅ | Imam Mujtaba Khamenei (H) has pointed toward such issues:
... Claims of strange miracles are often attributed to them, but many of these are false. However, I personally know things that are no less than some of these claims, and perhaps even more. I have seen them with my own eyes, but they are not the kind of things that can be spoken about. Not miraculous claims like walking on water or similar extraordinary notions, no.
In some cases, for example, some friends of Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah went to discuss matters related to the 33-day war or what followed. When some believers become attached to something, they tend to exaggerate it and go beyond the correct line, whereas reality is what it is.
Now, when some people who know he is not present begin fabricating statements in his name, it becomes what is technically called deliberate fabrication. Gradually, this leads to distortion, and when something is said incorrectly, something entirely different emerges.
Those who know the reality understand that it is not like this. For example, someone might say, “He lives in the house of Imam Mahdi,” and then a few people react by saying, “What a lie!” and from that conclude that everything else said about him is also false. This is how things get distorted. It then becomes assumed that if one claim is false, everything else must also be false.
We have seen this kind of pattern since the beginning of the revolution, since 1979, though in a different form at that time, and now it appears in a different form. For example, someone in prayer at night who had recently gone to the front lines said something about seeing certain spiritual states during night prayer, and others exaggerated it until it became absurd. Some dishonest individuals then used this to claim he had completely lost credibility.
Anyway, I want to say this: I am against exaggeration. But the speeches of the leader, after this long period, are in such a form that if they are taken as they are, they are already clear and precise. They do not really require heavy editing or reinterpretation; when transcribed into written form, they remain straightforward and clear.
