It’s been a while since I last posted 😅, there’s been a lot of work, travel ✈️, and some health issues 🤕.
At the end of May, when BTC hit a new high 🚀, I closed a long-held position at $111,200, locking in about +15% profit 💰. That wait was long, and definitely not easy. Even though I’ve personally lived through about six major crashes 😵💫 in all my trading history, that one was especially stressful and drawn-out. At one point, my position was down nearly 60% 📉. I wanted to cut it at least ten times 😬, but luckily, I held my nerves 💪 and eventually closed it in profit ✅.
After that emotional crash, I decided to draw some lessons 🧠:
1️⃣ Leverage must be reduced even more.
That time, I limited leverage to 2×, but at some point I averaged down and increased it to 2.3×, a serious mistake ❌. That very move made me anxious and tempted to cut the position by a quarter. There’s a huge difference between having a liquidation price at $63K and $55K 😬.
2️⃣ When tariffs news first started to move the market, there were two bounces at $93K–$95K 💹. That was a perfect time to reduce the position by a quarter. Doing so would have brought the liquidation price below $50K, drastically lowering risk ⚖️.
3️⃣ Stick to the strategy 🔑.
Opening a long with leverage at $104K was a bad idea. Buy during deep dips 📉, sell into sharp pumps 📈. In extreme cases, maybe open a position, but without leverage.
Right now, I’m accumulating a short position 📉. Current average entry: $116,746. I’ve been holding it for over two months 🕒 and already earned $13,000+ from funding fees 💵. I could’ve closed it twice with around +7% profit, but decided to keep it open.
I plan to keep adding if Bitcoin breaks above $130,000 💥. Normally, I avoid shorting 🙅♂️, but if not at the all-time high, then when 😏? Leverage is minimal now, just 1.2×.
