While the liquidation amounts appear significant, current open interest remains at historically high levels, with approximately $82 billion in BTC and $58 billion in ETH, indicating a strong bullish bias overall. With futures delivery set for Friday, BTC's current peak is around $107,000 and ETH's at $3,800. This may be one of the reasons why prices are under significant pressure this week.

According to exchange contract funding rate data, the market is generally bullish on BTC and bearish on ETH. However, since Monday's wave of liquidations, the proportion of short positions in short-term, highly leveraged contracts has increased.

Bitcoin Reserve Premium Fades! Corporate Buyers Face Valuation Dilemma

A recent report from K33 Research shows that one in four publicly traded companies holding Bitcoin as a reserve asset currently trades below the net asset value (NAV) of their crypto holdings. This highlights cooling investor enthusiasm for these so-called "Bitcoin proxies," potentially hindering their ability to continue acquiring digital assets amid market volatility.

Valuation Data Paints a Grim Picture

According to the report, the average market capitalization-to-net asset value (mNAV) multiple for publicly traded companies holding Bitcoin as reserves has plummeted from 3.76 in April to 2.8, with smaller companies bearing the brunt of the impact. For example, NAKA (the merger of KindlyMD and Nakamoto Holdings) has seen its market capitalization plummet 96% from its peak, with its mNAV multiple plummeting from a high of 75 to just 0.7.

FTX to launch "third round of repayments" at the end of the month, disbursing $1.6 billion to creditors.

FTX, the cryptocurrency exchange, is expected to initiate its third round of repayments on September 30th, following a lengthy 31-month bankruptcy process following its collapse in November 2022. The company plans to disburse approximately $1.6 billion to creditors in its third round of repayments on September 30th.

This payment will include creditors in the "Convenience Class" as well as other creditors holding larger claims. The former, primarily retail and small- to medium-sized creditors, account for as much as 99% of all claims.

In the first two rounds of repayments, FTX has already paid the vast majority of retail users approximately 120% of their book balances. This appears to be an overpayment, but the calculation of these repayments remains controversial.

Furthermore, most developers in the Ethereum ecosystem do not receive equity or token incentives, with the median equity reward typically being zero.
